Mirabelle Brut NV / 750 ml.

Item#: 70372

WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 11/1/2018
A creamy texture, buttery aromas and subtle ginger flavor make this wine from Schramsberg generous, complex and easy to love. Bosc pear, white peach, powdered ginger and cinnamon all combine for good complexity and concentration. Chardonnay leads the blend 68% to 32% Pinot Noir.
RP8989 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Aug 2013
The non-vintage Mirabelle Brut white is sourced from Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Marin County and is made from 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. The blend of young and older wines gives it a creamy richness, with lots of ripe peach and honeyed brioche, backed up by a medium-bodied, crisp, fresh, pure, dry sparkling wine that offers well-defined, small bubbles. This is a beauty to drink over the next few years.
SP8888 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jun 15, 2016
Appealing aromas of spiced hazelnut open to crisp and lively flavors of citrus and raspberry plus cinnamon and ginger. Drink now. 7,534 cases made.

When it comes to US wine production, California is King. California wines account for almost 90% of all wines produced in the United States each year, and is home to the most celebrated vineyards and producers in the country. California is probably best known for its world-famous Cabernets and Chardonnays, many of which hail from its two most-acclaimed AVAs, Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Other prominent grapes used in California wines include Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfandel (which California made popular).

The United States now ranks fourth in the world in wine production behind, France, Italy, and Spain. While about 90% of that wine is produced in California, other states like Oregon, New York, and Washington are establishing themselves as prime spots for wine production, as well. Just about any variety of wine can be found in production somewhere in the United States.

RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Dec 2015
It’s attractive, but even better is the outstanding NV Mirabelle Brut Rosé, 64% Pinot Noir and 36% Chardonnay. This shows a light pink color, beautiful delicate notes of strawberries and currants, crisp acids, a fresh, lively zesty style and medium body. Both of these are meant to be drunk upon release and are probably at their best within the first year or two of aging.
WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2015
This bubbly from Schramsberg has a deepish, salmon color and peach, melon and ginger cookie aromas. It combines crispness and finesse, fruit with complexity. Hints of almond, walnut and subtle spices come out on the lingering finish.

Roederer Estate Brut

SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Aug 31, 2019
Sleek and luxurious, with expressive Asian pear, strawberry blossom and roasted hazelnut flavors that build richness on an opulent finish. Drink now through 2020. 80,000 cases made.
WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2015
The fruit flavors are apparent, fresh and lively in this medium-bodied, beautifully balanced brut. Light pear and pineapple aromas are followed by richer pear and citrus flavors, and subtle hints of baking spices, almonds and a nice earthy touch emerge.
WS9090 pts. - Wine & Spirits - December 1, 2014
Roederer Estate’s Brut is reliably open and delicious, this year’s cuvée bursting with concentrated apple flavor. It’s clean and dry with a long, delicate finish enhanced by the barrel-aged reserve wines that winemaker Arnaud Weyrich blends in. Its bold flavors and vinous texture would be great with cracked crab.
ST8787 pts. - Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar - May/Jun 2012
Light yellow. Pear, orange zest and smoky lees on the nose. Offers flavors of melon and fresh orchard fruits, with a honeyed nuance and a spicy overtone. Refreshingly dry and precise, with firm closing grip and lingering bitterness.

Fresh, bright aromas of green apple, lemon juice, lime zest and lime leaf complemented by a light toasty-bread scent waft out of the glass almost immediately. Beautiful acidity keeps the lively fruits front and center, whilst those yeast tones add a layer of complexity to the flavor profile as well as a lovely weight and body to the mouthfeel. 2019 / 750 ml.

WE9393 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 5/1/2023
A well-rounded, easily enjoyable sparkling rosé, this offers a persistent fine-bubbled mousse structure, resulting in an overall smooth drinking experience. You will find nuanced aromas and flavors of citrus blossom, grapefruit, watermelon, white strawberries, dewy morning grass, and a wet stone minerality, with just a hint of those autolytic toasty notes. The finish lingers with additional florals of pink roses and fresh daisies. (Stacy Briscoe)
SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jun 30, 2023
Offers pretty peach and strawberry flavors and a luscious, lingering texture as this takes on spice and orange peel accents on the crisp yet plush finish. Drink now. 19,350 cases made. (Tim Fish)
VN9292 pts. - Vinous - May 2023
More savory than sweet and wonderfully complex, the 2019 Brut Rosé North Coast bursts from the glass with toasty notes of fresh baguette and almonds, giving way to crushed apples and gingery spice. This rushes the palate with an elegant bead of silken bubbles. It is creamy yet energetic, and mineral-tinged orchard fruits add further tension. The 2019 leaves the senses wonderfully refreshed through the long, crunchy finale, as white strawberry and spice cookie notes fade. The Brut Rosé is a pleasure bomb, yet it’s wonderfully balanced throughout. (Eric Guido)

Aromas and flavors lead with a wet stone minerality and flintiness straight away, closely followed by autolytic notes of fresh, crusty bread. Slowly revealed are the vivacious fruits of lemon, lime, green apple and orange zest, complemented by a cherry-blossom floral note. The finish is a perfect culmination of all, crescendoing into a lingering finale. (Stacy Briscoe)
