Pop the cork, and let's celebrate the great sparkling wines of Prosecco! This large Italian DOC spans nine provinces in Italy's Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions, and produces sparkling wines from the grape of the same name. These light, dry wines are increasingly popular for their high quality and relatively inexpensive price tags (when compared with other sparkling wines).
Region / Veneto
Veneto, in northeastern Italy, is home to some of the most celebrated Italian wines, including Amarone red wines. The cities Verona and Venice fall within Veneto, and the areas surrounding Verona in western Veneto is where you'll find Amarone and Valpolicella production. Western Veneto also produces some fantastic white wines, like Soave. Meanwhile, the eastern part of Veneto has something worth celebrating, as well, as that's where Prosecco comes from.

Italy is famous for its powerful, sleek, and elegant reds wines from ancient growing areas with legendary names such as Chianti, Barolo, Barbaresco, Montepulciano. Italian white wines are also gaining popularity: Orvieto, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon are excellent examples of Italian white wines.
