Gosset Grand Reserve Brut Champagne NV / 750 ml.

Item#: 84138

ST9393 pts. - Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar - Nov/Dec 2013
Vivid yellow. Powerful, mineral-accented orchard fruits and Meyer lemon the nose, with a sexy floral nuance adding complexity. Stains the palate with concentrated pear, melon and lemon curd flavors, with a smoky, leesy quality building with aeration. Surprisingly lively for its depth of flavor thanks to bright, nervy acidity and a chalky quality. Closes long and toasty, with excellent clarity and lift.
WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 6/1/2017
This nonvintage cuvée sums up the Gosset style in its precise texture and crisp, taut acidity. A blend of fruit from the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs, it shows some attractive maturity. Given its balanced, perfumed aftertaste and great fruitiness, this is a Champagne to drink now.
WS9292 pts. - Wine & Spirits - December 1, 2008
Opulent Champagne, this is saturated with ripe fruit, from white peach to white raspberry and lime. It’s gloriously heady, yet the acidity keeps it clear and aligned. Old fashioned rococo elegance.
SP9191 pts. - Wine Spectator - Dec 15, 2018
Rich, with pastry and vanilla accents on the nose, this shows flavors of glazed apricot, chopped almond, kumquat and saline, backed by vibrant acidity on the fine and creamy palate. Drink now through 2021. 500 cases imported.

From the Producer

The color is bright and golden, the nose open and expressive, and the palate is dominated by a refreshing mineral tension. This is the true signature of the House. An expression of the Gosset style, which I have been maintaining for 30 years.

Where It's From

Region / Champagne

Bring on the bubbly! Perhaps no other wine region in the world has the name recognition of Champagne, to the point where people often mistakenly use the word "Champagne" to describe any sparkling wine. Yet only wines produced within the region can legally be called "Champagne," and to this day it produces some of the finest sparkling wines known to earth.

Country / France

View more wines from France

The French did not invent winemaking. They simply perfected it. For centuries, France has been producing wines that inspire poetry, awe, and wonder; wines that blur the lines between nature, craftsmanship, cuisine and art. These are the wines that inspired cultures around the globe to follow in France’s footsteps, planting Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Grenache, Merlot, Semillon and more.

Yet as often as they are emulated, the magic of their terroirs can never be duplicated. You may taste Cabernet from around the world, but perhaps none as elegant and regal as Bordeaux. You may try Pinot Noir or Chardonnay from various climates, but none with the earth-bound soul and ethereal reach of Burgundy.

RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 3rd Mar 2016
Straw yellow and with a golden hue in color, the Pol Roger NV Réserve Brut displays a brilliant, perfectly ripe but also fresh, highly elegant and refined fruit aroma on the nose; think of cooked pip fruits like pears and apples, but also quince-confiture and yellow stone fruits, such as apricots and peaches intermixed with vanilla, brioche (pain aux raisins), some nutty flavors and also some white floral notes. On the palate, this medium-bodied Brut is as round (if not pretty sweet) and fruit-driven as it is delicate, pure and very elegant. The mousse is deliciously fine and leads this charming and perfectly balanced fizz to a long, aromatic, stunningly dry and slightly mineral, impressively long finish. This is extremely well done Champagne from equal parts of Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay sourced in 30 different crus. This Réserve includes 25% of reserve wines and was dosed with nine grams per liter.
SP9191 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2018
A well-cut Champagne, with a zesty mousse, this offers a harmonious mix of crème de cassis, Honeycrisp apple, candied ginger and toasty notes, offering a subtle, smoke- and spice-tinged finish. Drink now through 2021. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 110,000 cases made, 12,000 cases imported.
WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/1/2016
This is a well-balanced, ripe wine in the producer’s rich house style. A brighter, more mineral crispness and acidity also come through strongly in this bottling. The aftertaste brings together a mineral texture and full yellow and apple fruits. Drink now.
WS8888 pts. - Wine & Spirits - December 31, 2009
Bright white chalk and yellow fruit scents contrast darker tones of root vegetables and earth. This is clean and dry, with minerality that lasts. The acidity makes it a refreshing match for tempura.

SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2020
A firm and minerally rosé Champagne, with oyster shell and chalk notes underscoring the raspberry coulis and nectarine fruit flavors. Tightly meshed and mouthwatering throughout, with spice and almond skin notes playing on the finish. Disgorged August 2019. Drink now through 2025.
VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Nov 2020
The NV Brut Rosé is flat-out delicious. The word ’balance’ is so overused in wine, but I really can’t think of a better way to describe the Brut Rosé. It is not nervy nor overly rich, but just impeccable in its poise and overall harmony. A healthy amount of Pinot lends volume and intensity to this Chardonnay-based Rosé. This is the sort of wine that is opened and disappears within a few minutes. This release is a blend of vintages 2017 and 2016. Disgorged: August, 2019.
SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2019
Firm and focused, this mouthwatering rosé is lightly chalky in texture, with an integrated range of white peach, pink grapefruit sorbet and blanched almond. A briny hint of oyster shell cleans the lingering finish. Disgorged September 2018. Drink now through 2022.

SP9191 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 15, 2011
This restrained wine integrates its firm acidity nicely, which provides a backbone for the hints of white peach, lemon curd, dried apple, ground white pepper and smoke. A bit shy today, but try with charcuterie or other light fare to open it up. Drink now through 2016. 3,000 cases imported.
WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2000
This is an interesting bottling that opened up considerably while tasting. The nose displays biscuit, grape and lime notes, and there’s plenty of green apple and sweet-tart citrus in the mouth. It has a nice texture on the palate and closes with a grapefruit tang and chalky notes.
ST8989 pts. - Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar - Nov/Dec 2012
Pale gold. Nectarine and Meyer lemon aromas are deepened by notes of sweet butter and toasty lees. Juicy and focused, with good energy to its citrus and pit fruit flavors. Closes on a gently bitter note, with good clarity and lingering smokiness.
SP8787 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2021
A firm version, framing hints of white raspberry, pink grapefruit peel and grated ginger with crunchy acidity and a zesty bead. Drink now. 18,750 cases made, 4,500 cases imported. (Alison Napjus)

Gosset Celebris Rose 2008 / 750 ml.

2008 / 750 ml.

Item #: 98911

WE9595 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2022
A Chardonnay-dominated rosé, this Champagne is fruity while also textured. It is a structured wine, full of minerals and still amazingly young. With its freshness almost entirely intact and few signs of maturity, the wine could obviously age further. Drink now, because it is a great wine, alternatively age at least until 2025. (Roger Voss)
JD9595 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 11/7/2022
Offering beautiful freshness and purity, the 2008 Celebreis Brut Rose is 72% Chardonnay and the rest Pinot Noir (8% of which is red wine) and pours a pure salmon hue. It is fresh with cherry blossom, grapefruit, and pastry crust, and it has a pillowy mousse and a bit more tension through the back end, with a refreshing lift of acidity. A very attractive wine, it will be wonderful to enjoy now or over the next 20 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)
RP94+94+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 21st Oct 2021
Offering up aromas of honeycomb, warm biscuits, red berries and spices, the just-released 2008 Extra Brut Celebris Rosé is full-bodied, ample and layered, with a concentrated, even expansive mid-palate; but if this Celebris Rosé leads with its voluminous core of fruit, it’s its tangy spine of acidity and taut structure that dominate the bone-dry finish. That structure will demand a bit of patience, but this is an impressive effort from Gosset. (William Kelley)
VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Nov 2021
The 2008 Brut Rosé Celebris is an absolutely gorgeous Champagne that captures the essence of the Gosset house style. Bright and ethereal in feel, the 2008 is deceptive in its first impression, but it has plenty of depth to match its decidedly regal, understated personality. The 6.5 grams of dosage feels perfectly judged, just enough to fill out the layers and avoid some of the starkness these wines can show, but not so much as to be overpowering. Crushed red berry fruit, chalk, mint and white pepper build as this finely-sculpted Rosé shows off its charms. This is beautifully done. Dosage is 6.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: April, 2021 (Antonio Galloni)
SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 15, 2021
A rich rosé in a vinous style, with steeped raspberry and black cherry fruit flavors and an aromatic overtone of whole grain toast, crystallized honey and salted almond. Fine and creamy in texture, with a firm backbone of well-knit acidity creating a mouthwatering impression on the lightly chalky, herb- and spice-laced finish. Chardonnay and Pinot. Drink now through 2028. 50 cases imported. (Alison Napjus)

SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2022
A firm, focused version, this swathes a chiseled spine of acidity in a raw, silky texture and finely meshed flavors of yellow peach, orange liqueur, honeycomb and chopped almond. A rich streak of salinity drives the well-cut, spiced finish. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Drink now through 2035. 200 cases imported. (Alison Napjus)
WE9494 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2022
Having retained all its youthful acidity because there was no malolactic fermentation, the Champagne is brilliantly lit. Acidity and a light texture from the Pinot Noir in the blend give the wine a crisp edge with still-young citrus. Drink the wine from 2024. (Roger Voss)
JD9292 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 11/7/2022
Composed of 59% Pinot Noir and the rest Chardonnay, the 2015 Grand Millésime Brut is vibrant and ripe with fresh bread dough, grapefruit, and white flowers. It is pure on the palate, with ripe, crystalline pear and a beautifully clean stony texture. It will benefit from another couple of years in cellar and drink well 2024–2040. (Audrey Frick)
RP8989 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 10th Nov 2022
The 2015 Brut Grand Millésime offers up notes of white flowers, citrus zest, crisp green apple and subtle hints of cut grass, followed by a medium to full-bodied, rich but vibrant palate with a somewhat firm, phenolic finish. There’s plenty of structure and substance here, but the wine is rather compact out of the gates, to the extent that this appears to be one of the weaker efforts among recent releases from Gosset. SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2019
This vibrant rosé is tightly knit and racy, with a floral overtone and flavors of peach skin, white cherry, whole-grain toast and chalky mineral showing finely honed precision as they ride the creamy, detailed mousse. Disgorged May 2018. Drink now through 2024. 600 cases imported.
JS9292 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Monday, September 2, 2019
A bright nose of strawberry and pink-grapefruit aromas with hints of blood oranges and berries, as well as almond biscuits. The palate has a super vibrant, fleshy ball of fresh red-fruit flavor and delivers a refreshing, minerally finish. Drink now.
RP91+91+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Apr 2020
Based on the 2014 vintage, the new release of Gosset’s NV Brut Grand Rosé is still quite tightly wound after its recent disgorgement in November 2019, unwinding in the glass with aromas of orange rind, crisp orchard fruit and warm biscuits. Medium to full-bodied, deep and muscular, it’s bright and chalky, with racy acids and notable phenolic structure, complemented by a pinpoint mousse. It will really begin to show all its cards after a few years on cork.
WE9191 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 6/1/2017
This is a soft Champagne — more like a wine with bubbles than a crisp apéritif. With its relatively high dosage and ripe red fruit, it’s rich up front, cleaning up with acidity on the finish. Keep for a few more months and drink from 2018.
VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2017
Gosset’s NV Brut Grand Rosé is brisk and chiseled to the core, with plenty of bright cranberry, citrus and floral notes that give the wine lift. Deceptively pale in color and light in body, the Grand Rosé makes its case with persistence and focus. The dry, bracing style is best suited to the dinner table, especially with lighter, fish-based dishes. Disgorged on May 31, 2016. Dosage is 9 grams per liter.
