Item#: 77551

WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 11/1/2021
Briary, meaty aromas lead to a great mix of fruit and savory flavors in this medium to full-bodied wine. Moderate tannins keep it lively on the palate and subtle French oak accents develop in the glass with time. (Jim Gordon)
SP8989 pts. - Wine Spectator - Dec 31, 2021
Sturdy in structure but snappy, with dark plum and cherry flavors that are laced with sage and green peppercorns. Drink now through 2026. 18,543 cases made. (Tim Fish)

Welcoming aromas of pomegranate and boysenberry are followed by juicy red raspberry and red cherry flavors, all of which are framed by a subtle pepper note. When it comes to US wine production, California is King. California wines account for almost 90% of all wines produced in the United States each year, and is home to the most celebrated vineyards and producers in the country. California is probably best known for its world-famous Cabernets and Chardonnays, many of which hail from its two most-acclaimed AVAs, Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Other prominent grapes used in California wines include Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfandel (which California made popular).

This is a full, voluptuous red wine filled with concentrated fruits. Blackberry, boysenberry, wild strawberry, black cherry are complemented by spice tones of black pepper, clove, nutmeg and a hint of charred wood. Just enough acid keeps the wine in balance. The finish is filled with smoked-meat umami. (Stacy Briscoe)

Deep and succulent dark-fruited character here with raspberry jam, spices and herbs. Medium- to full-bodied, juicy and tense with bright acidity and a fruity finish. Drink now. Screw cap. (James Suckling)

Strawberries, blackberries and vanilla rise from the glass before ripe and fresh berries, cream and milk chocolate spread across the palate. Aged in American oak barrels, this wine is full bodied but not very tannic, easy to sip and enjoy. (Jim Gordon)
