Notes of red fruit, fine herbs and sweet spices on the nose. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and fresh acidity. Fruity, with a juicy edge and a lively finish. Tight at the end. 100% sangiovese. Drink or hold.
SP9191 pts. - Wine Spectator - Sep 30, 2022
An elegant and enticing red, this features cherry, strawberry and floral aromas and flavors accented by earth and rhubarb. Firm and lightly astringent on the finish—but food will resolve that. Best from 2023 through 2028. 35,000 cases made, 5,000 cases imported. (Bruce Sanderson)

Where It's From

Region / Tuscany

View more wines from Tuscany

There are few regions as picturesque as Italy's Tuscany. And there are few regions that produce finer wines, either. Tuscany is home to legendary wine regions Brunello di Montalcino and Chianti, among others, where the red wine grape Sangiovese is king. It's also home to "Super Tuscans," a category of Tuscan wines that don't officially fall within the Italian wine classification system.

Country / Italy

View more wines from Italy

Italy is famous for its powerful, sleek, and elegant reds wines from ancient growing areas with legendary names such as Chianti, Barolo, Barbaresco, Montepulciano. Italian white wines are also gaining popularity: Orvieto, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon are excellent examples of Italian white wines.

Wines of Italy are complex and flavorful, much like the culture that is their source and the cuisine that is their match.

Blackberries and black cherries with some fresh flowers on the nose, following through to a medium body, fine tannins and a fresh finish. Succulent at the end. Drink now. (James Suckling)

The 2020 Chianti Clássico Bastioni dei Collazzi is a soft, fruity wine to drink now and over the next few years, while the red cherry/plum fruit remains vibrant. (Antonio Galloni)
RP8888 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 9th Feb 2023
Opening to a dark garnet color, the hot-vintage 2020 Chianti Classico Bastioni dei Collazzi is earthy and savory on first nose with dried rose, forest floor, toasted chestnut husk and sweet tobacco. However, you might also notice dried flower potpourri or church incense. The wine is thick on the palate but ultimately moderate in length. The blend is 80% Sangiovese, 18% Merlot and 2% Malvasia Nera, and 40,000 bottles were made. (Monica Larner)

A well-defined and typical Chianti Rufina with aromas and flavors of berries and cherries, as well as darker, savory notes of bark and dried herbs. Medium body and grainy tannins that have a dusty-oak coating that absorbs the fruit flavors nicely and gives a long, firm and a slightly bitter, licoricy finish. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but will be better integrated in 2023.
WE9191 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 5/1/2022
Made with organically farmed grapes—90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo and 5% Colorino—this opens with aromas of black-skinned berry, underbrush and leather. The fragrant, balanced palate offers black cherry, clove and licorice alongside firm, polished tannins. Drink 2023–2030. (Kerin O’Keefe)

A fresh, creamy Chianti Classico with fresh cherry, watermelon and citrus aromas and flavors. Medium body and fine tannins. Drink now. (James Suckling)
RP8787 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 9th Feb 2023
The hot-vintage 2020 Chianti Classico Bramosia shows tarry ripeness with strawberry jelly, road pavement, scorched earth and black olive. The wine opts for a simple and matter-of-fact delivery and is not especially long or profound. But it would make an easy partner to take-out Italian food. (Monica Larner)
