Item#: 99787
While this is Siduri’s “regular” Pinot, it’s a real standout. Charming fruit and spice aromas seem perfectly aligned with the complex, layered, intricate flavors that follow. The wine is firm textured, concentrated and impressive, offering everything from bright raspberries to rich black cherries to cedar and clove accents. Best from 2025–2032. (Jim Gordon)
The 2021 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley pours a deep red, with ripe and expressive aromas of classic appeal, including cola spice, saturated black cherry, and damp forest floor. Ripe with red plum that is forward on the palate, it reveals a note of black tea, angular, ripe tannins, and turned earth. It’s ripe and meaty, with a good sense of place. Drink it over the next few years. (Audrey Frick)

Sonoma County, just north of San Francisco is one of California's most famous wine districts. While sometimes overshadowed by the reputation of its rival and neighbor, Napa Valley, Sonoma County has a longer history of viticulture and is twice the size of the former.
Thanks in part to a strong diversity of climates within Sonoma County, the district is home to outstanding examples from a whole host of grapes. Sonoma County Pinot Noirs are considered some of the finest in the state, and the Dry Creek Valley Zinfandels are remarkable. Chardonnays come in a variety of styles thanks to the varying temperatures in Sonoma County, and Cabernets and Merlots also thrive here.
Some of the more celebrated viticultural areas in Sonoma County include Sonoma Mountain, Sonoma Coast, Chalk Hill, Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley, and Carneros (parts of which fall within Napa Valley).

When it comes to US wine production, California is King. California wines account for almost 90% of all wines produced in the United States each year, and is home to the most celebrated vineyards and producers in the country. California is probably best known for its world-famous Cabernets and Chardonnays, many of which hail from its two most-acclaimed AVAs, Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Other prominent grapes used in California wines include Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfandel (which California made popular).

Pale ruby, the 2021 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills offers fragrant scents of cranberry, forest floor and tar, with ringing notes of violet and aniseed. The medium-bodied palate features just-ripe, floral red fruits and abundant Angostura-like accents. It has fine, powdery, tannins and bursts of mouthwatering acidity that call you in for another sip on the long, flavorful finish. Juicy black cherry and boysenberry aromas are generous on the nose of this single vineyard expression, with waves of wet soil and crushed slate adding a mineral nuance. The lush palate of Luxardo cherry and a spice rack of flavors is wrapped in grippy tannins that elevate this wine to the upper echelon. (Matt Kettmann)
Another pretty, perfumed wine in the vintage, the 2021 Pinot Noir Sierra Mar Vineyard has ripe strawberry and framboise-like fruit as well as ample background spice and dried herb nuances, and it gains a darker, floral edge with time in the glass. Medium-bodied on the on the palate, with nicely integrated oak, velvety tannins, and just a round, supple mouthfeel, it’s drinking beautifully today and will be drinking beautifully in another 7–8 years as well. (Jeb Dunnuck)

The 2021 Pinot Noir Faîte de Mer Farm Radiolaria is a wild, dynamic wine. It is also quite closed and in need of cellaring. Readers who can wait will find a complex, nuanced Pinot Noir that has a ton to offer. Spice, dried flowers, lavender and blue/purplish fruit fill out the layers, with firm tannins that wrap it all together in style. (Antonio Galloni)
Radiolaria is Jason Drew’s block selection, named for the deposits of fossilized plankton at his estate vineyard. The site, three miles from the Pacific and 1,250 feet above it, has been farmed for three decades under organics, first as an apple orchard, later, by the Drews, for apples, truffles and grapes. Those grapes, spontaneously fermented as whole clusters, fill this wine with red-berry flavor, generous, mouthwatering and vibrant. The way the wine plays in and out of its oak suggests a long life ahead: There’s energy, stamina and a buzzy length of flavor.

Winemaker Matt Revelette manages to make his appellation blends sing. This bottling is wonderfully ripe and juicy with red-fruit aromas but also cinnamon brioche and loamy earth on the nose. The texture is tense and the acidity tingles on the palate, where juicy black cherry, baked strawberry and cocoa-spice flavors work in harmony. (Matt Kettmann)
