Where It's From

District / Willamette Valley

View more wines from Willamette Valley

Oregon's Willamette Valley is the most-heralded wine region in the state, and home to some of the best Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris produced anywhere, aided in part by the especially cool growing season. The region is divided into two sub-regions, the North Willamette and South Willamette, and is named for the river of the same name which flows past the city of Portland.

Region / Oregon

View more wines from Oregon

Oregon didn't burst onto the wine scene until the 1980s, but it has since carved out a name for itself as a world-class region for cooler weather wines like Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. It's most famous for the former, with many critically-acclaimed Pinot Noirs originating in the region. The Willamette Valley is Oregon's most famous and most productive region. Other notable regions include the Rogue Valley, Walla Walla, and Columbia Valley.

Country / United States

View more wines from United States

The United States now ranks fourth in the world in wine production behind, France, Italy, and Spain. While about 90% of that wine is produced in California, other states like Oregon, New York, and Washington are establishing themselves as prime spots for wine production, as well. Just about any variety of wine can be found in production somewhere in the United States.

RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 16th Dec 2021
Made with about 20% whole clusters, the 2019 Pinot Noir is intensely scented of blackberries and dark red cherries with notes of iron, blood orange, aniseed and cured meats. The palate is concentrated and alluringly broody, with intense, iron-laced fruit. It has a seamless structure, with grainy tannins supporting the full flavors, and it finishes with great length. (Erin Brooks)

This is an elegant blend of fruit from Luminous Hills, Nysa and Cherry Grove vineyards. The wine’s honey and orange aromas are like walking through a field of sweet peas. Coming along for the journey are black cherry and lightly toasted marshmallow aromas. The wine’s silky mouthfeel is belied by tannins that are firm without being grippy. Flavors such as blackberry, blueberry gelato, cedar and thyme leave a lasting impression. (Michael Alberty)

Supple and graceful, with delicately layered raspberry, rose petal and spice flavors that glide along a rich, lovely finish. Drink now through 2029. 476 cases made. (Tim Fish)

Bright ruby-red. Lively, spice-accented red fruits on the nose, along with suggestions of candied rose and smoky minerals. Juicy cherry and raspberry flavors show good depth but no undue weight. The spice and floral notes drive a long, smooth finish that displays discreet tannins and a sweetening hint of cola. 20% whole clusters. (Josh Raynolds)

RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 16th Dec 2021
Medium ruby-purple, the 2019 Pinot Noir Gregory Ranch has pretty aromas of berry fruit, orange peel, wildflower and autumnal earthy accents. The palate has intense spicy fruits, bright freshness and polished tannins, gliding seamlessly into a long, layered finish.
VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2022
Dark, bright-brimmed red. Spice- and earth-tinged red and blue fruit scents show a suave floral overtone. Youthfully taut bitter cherry, blueberry and spicecake flavors flesh out and take a sweeter turn through the back half. Finishes very long and precise, with gently gripping tannins and a resonating cherry flourish.
WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/1/2021
This vineyard designate has distinctive and palate-penetrating pine needle accents. It’s tight and focused, mixing cranberry and tart raspberry fruit with a light suggestion of truffly umami. The balance and complexity argue for further bottle age. It wraps up with well-ripened tannins that add touches of black olive and black tea.

RP9696 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 16th Dec 2021
The 2019 Pinot Noir Nysa Vineyard comes from more than 30-year-old, own-rooted vines on an east-facing slope in the Dundee Hills, part of the original Domaine Drouhin property, planted to Pommard, Wadenswil and Dijon clone vines. Medium ruby, it’s nuanced and layered on the nose, with tar, cured meats and pepper and a core of wild blackberries. The palate is elegant and seamless, opening from savory to floral tones and finishing with an uplifted, ethereal quality. This will be released in the spring of 2022. (Erin Brooks)
WE9494 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 3/1/2023
Nysa Vineyard is a magical Dundee Hills location where you can almost envision the frolicking nymphs of Greek mythology teaching young Dionysus a thing or two about mature, own-rooted vines. This wine is a worthy nod to such myths. There’s an earthiness here that comes across as a combination of lilies and smoked oysters on the nose, with notes of dark cherries and a fresh ocean breeze. The wine’s smooth mouthfeel and silky tannins complement raspberry and black-pepper flavors that seemingly go on forever. (Michael Alberty)
VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2022
Limpid ruby. Black raspberry, cherry cola and floral aromas are complemented by an exotic spice nuance and hints of succulent herbs and smoky minerals. Well-concentrated yet nervy, offering penetrating red and blue fruit, candied rose and allspice flavors supported by an undercurrent of juicy acidity. Finishes impressively long and seamless, displaying lingering red berry preserve and spice notes and discreet tannins. (Josh Raynolds)

A perfumed nose of redcurrants, plums, salted olives and baking spices. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and bright acidity. Juicy and layered with a savory, salty edge. Balanced, supple finish. Drink or hold.

Deep red. Fresh, spice-accented red fruits, candied flowers and allspice on the fragrant nose, along with vanilla and smoky mineral notes in the background. Juicy and focused on the palate, showing very good energy to the raspberry, cherry preserve and spicecake flavors. Becomes fleshier with air and finishes long and smooth, with sneaky tannins and repeating florality. (Josh Raynolds)
