Critical Acclaim

JS93 JamesSuckling.com Tuesday, May 3, 2022

"Perfumed yet focused nose with lots of violets and deep but fresh blueberries. Very pure. A mineral undertone makes it quite attractive. It’s dense, medium-to full-bodied and juicy on the palate, packed with silky tannins that are taut and calculated. Youthful and very primary now. Free of oak. Drink from 2023." (93 pts.)

RP91 Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate 30th Nov 2022

"The clean, precise and fresh 2021 Aruma is a great entry-level Malbec with balance and ripeness at 14.5% alcohol. It’s now 100% Malbec from Valle de Uco (Altamira, El Peral and San José), produced in a fruit-driven and floral style and bottled unoaked. 412,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in September 2021. (Luis Gutiérrez)" (91 pts.)

VN91 Vinous Nov 2022

"The 2021 Malbec Aruma from the Uco Valley, Mendoza is purple in the glass. It has a bold, reductinve nose of violets and other floral notes, plum and hints of sour cherry. Juicy with a refined expression, the delicate tannins are enhanced by the refreshing acidity, accompanied by black tea aromas. A wine of intense flavor with a hint of salinity, it very much enjoyed the cooler year. (Joaquín Hidalgo)" (91 pts.)

Mendoza

Mendoza is Argentina's biggest wine region, and with a footprint that spans a diverse geography, it's able to produce a wide array of wines. Chief amongst them are Argentina's ever-popular Malbecs, but you'll also find world-class Cabernet Sauvignons, Chardonnays, and more produced here. The geography is diverse, but tends to be mountainous, and the higher elevations play a sizable role in grape growing, providing cooler temperatures at night.

Argentina

Argentina took the wine world spotlight in the late 20th century with its plush, smooth Malbec. While the popular red grape still reigns supreme, Argentine wineries are increasingly putting forth excellent examples of multiple varietals, all at the extraordinary bargains that make this region so accessible.

Now the fifth largest wine-producing nation in the world, Argentina enjoys high-altitude and low-humidity vineyard sites, comparatively unencumbered by insects and disease. Argentina’s unique terroir has captured the interest of such internationally celebrated winemakers as Paul Hobbs and Michel Rolland, both of whom have projects in the country.
