Terroir Sense Fronteres Negre de Montsant 2019 / 750 ml.

Item#: 96197

RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Dec 2020
The Capçanes village red 2019 Negre was produced with 75% Garnacha and 25% Cariñena from organically farmed vineyards on clay soils, fermented in stainless steel with full clusters (they don’t have a destemmer here or in Priorat) and bottled unoaked after six months. It has aromas of licorice and Mediterranean herbs. It has character and is light and ethereal, in the direction of the 2018, with fine-grained tannins and a stony sensation in the mouthfeel. This is incredible; it has 12.5% alcohol and is fluid, fresh and incredibly easy to drink. This is young but very approachable. 12,350 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2020.

Really perfumed and beautiful with lots of bright fruit and spices. Lots of lavender, too. It’s full-bodied with creamy tannins. Delicious finish. Drink or hold.

View more wines from Spain

The picturesque countryside of Spain is littered with vineyards large and small, and offers up some of the best value available on the wine market today. You can consistently fine critically-acclaimed Spanish wines selling for less than their counterparts from other wine-producing countries. The Rioja and Ribera del Duero regions are most famous, and there's nowhere else in the world where you'll find as many world-class Tempranillos.

The 2019 Com Tu is now part of the Clos Mogador portfolio even though it started as a small separate project from Anderson Barbier, who is now training to be a chef, so the project is continued by his brother, René. This is now the village wine from La Figuera (in Montsant) from the Mogador team. 2019 is a year of concentration but with very good acidity, and the wine shows the good Priorat (even if it’s from Montsant!)—warm and ripe with careful extraction. The wine expresses a typical vintage in balance, showing the power the zone delivers. It’s a very complete wine, still young and a little closed, a year like 2016 or 2013, that will grow with time in bottle. 12,000 bottles produced. (Luis Gutiérrez)

Bright pale-gold hue, with a fresh-toned nose, showing blanched almond, grapefruit citrus, sage and a stony undertone. This is quite fresh and elegant on the palate, with good zest to the citrus fruit and a subtle bite at the end. Only 11.5% alcohol. Drink now.
RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Sep 2022
The skin-contact white 2021 Brisat was produced exclusively with Garnacha Blanca (no more Macabeo) from organically farmed vineyards. It fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and was bottled unoaked after six months in vat. They want to preserve the freshness and the primary aromas, and this is light, with 11.5% alcohol. The wine is fresh and fruit driven, with very good freshness, very clean and with some varietal character. 6,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2022. (Luis Gutiérrez)
