Composed of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Sage Ridge gives fragrant crème de cassis, spiced black cherries, preserved plums and lilacs with touches of chocolate box, wood smoke and tobacco plus a hint of crushed stones. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm and structured with great freshness and loads of layers. 150 cases produced.

Tobacco, cedar, smoke, leather and licorice add savoriness and nuance to this super-expressive Cabernet Sauvignon. This is an especially bright and elegant style for Kenefick Ranch.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Darius II sparks both hedonistic and cerebral appreciation by exuding profound scents of preserved plums, blackberry compote, blueberry pie, kirsch and warm cassis with suggestions of candied violets, cigar box, Indian spices, fragrant earth, truffles and licorice. Full-bodied, bold and decadently fruited in the mouth, the palate delivers rich black fruit and spicy layers with a firm yet velvety frame and an epically long, earth-laced finish.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Proprietary Red Blend Family Reserve Generations is intensely scented of warm black and red currants, Black Forest cake and blueberry compote with nuances of chocolate mint, new leather, tilled soil and fallen leaves. Full-bodied with a taut frame of grainy tannins supporting the densely packed black fruit layers, it has a long lingering minty kick on the finish.
Features a solid range blackberry paste, fig and plum notes, with cassis bush, bittersweet cocoa and licorice root accents. The solidly grippy finish leaves a hefty impression, but this will have fans. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2021 through 2029. 2,400 cases made.

The 2016 St. Eden is a real powerhouse. In so many vintages St. Eden is a showy, voluptuous wine, but the 2016 is decidedly closed down. There is very clearly tremendous depth and intensity in the glass, along with a good bit of sensuality that starts to appear with a bit of air. The 2016 is vivid and classy, qualities that will become even more apparent over time. Today, though, the 2016 is mostly a wine of potential, and it has tons of that. Of all of the Bond 2016s, the St. Eden appears to be the most affected by bottling.
The 2016 St. Eden has a deep garnet-purple color and gives up vivacious notes of crushed blackberries, warm plums and cassis plus hints of dried leaves, forest floor, tapenade and truffles with a touch of unsmoked cigars. Medium to full-bodied, the palate features taut, muscular black and blue fruits, framed by firm, ripe tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long with loads of savory sparks.

The 2012 Proprietary Red is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, aged in 100% new French oak from some of the best coopers in France, Darnajou, Taransaud, and Gamba. This wine is a stunner. A terrific nose of blackcurrants, cedar wood, white chocolate, and blackberries rolls out of the glass with serious intensity. Beautiful texture, remarkable purity, sweet, supple tannins, and layers of fruit and extract that are not heavy or out of balance all cascade over the palate. This is a stunning wine, and like so many 2012s, exuberant and showy already. It should continue to drink well for at least another 15 or more years. (Robert M. Parker, Jr.)

Coming from the Edcora Vineyard up on Atlas Peak and composed of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep garnet-purple color and expressive nose of cassis, blackberry tart, crushed blueberries and lavender with touches of bay leaves and fragrant soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a beautifully soft, fine-grained texture with plenty of freshness lifting the intense flavors, finishing long. Only 75 cases were made.

A flashy style, accented by spicy, toasty oak, this features a tight, dense mix of red and dark berry fruit at the core. Comes together on the finish, revealing sharply focused oak and berry details. Long and persistent. Drink now through 2022. 275 cases made.
Made from Dijon clones 777 and 667, the 2011 Pinot Noir is a larger cuvée, coming across with fresher acidity and an even brighter style than the 2010. A successful effort for the vintage, it displays lots of plum, red fruits (especially currants and cherries), underbrush and loamy soil notes. Medium-bodied and juicy, it should drink well for 6–8 years.

The 2014 Pinot Noir Rita’s Crown is made from clones 115 and, to a lesser extent, 667. She only makes four barrels, but it is a gorgeous Pinot Noir with notes of forest floor, spring flowers, sweet black cherry and black raspberry fruit with loamy soil undertones. The wine is full-bodied and opulent with well-integrated acidity, wood and tannin. This beauty is reminiscent of a Grand Cru from the Côte de Nuit, and should drink well for another 10 years.

Like the 2015, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is totally brilliant. Incorporating 10% Cabernet Franc and 5%% Merlot brought up in French oak, it boasts a deep, saturated purple color as well as crème de cassis, blackberry jam, scorched earth, chocolate, graphite and huge minerality. Deep, concentrated, full-bodied, and beautifully textured, it’s one sexy 2014 that has more density, depth and concentration than most in the vintage.
