This warm, rich, velvety wine boasts deep black-plum and black-cherry flavors generously accented by oak spices ranging from cinnamon and vanilla to cedar and chocolate. Well-integrated tannins and a full body keep it smooth but weighty on the palate. (Jim Gordon)

From the Producer

Our 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon with its deep garnet color, opens with inviting aromas of dark cherry, and nutmeg. The flavors of dark cherry and plum with a hint of vanilla are perfectly paired with balanced acidity and moderate tannins. This elegant Cabernet is accessible now, but its structure and complexity will see it through many years of aging.

When it comes to US wine production, California is King. California wines account for almost 90% of all wines produced in the United States each year, and is home to the most celebrated vineyards and producers in the country. California is probably best known for its world-famous Cabernets and Chardonnays, many of which hail from its two most-acclaimed AVAs, Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Other prominent grapes used in California wines include Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfandel (which California made popular).

The United States now ranks fourth in the world in wine production behind, France, Italy, and Spain. While about 90% of that wine is produced in California, other states like Oregon, New York, and Washington are establishing themselves as prime spots for wine production, as well. Just about any variety of wine can be found in production somewhere in the United States.

Heavy clove, cedar and dried plum aromas lead to a rich, almost-sweet feel on the palate, spreading blackberry-jam and vanilla notes. (Jim Gordon)

Very ripe black-cherry flavors are heavily accented with cedar, sawdust and clove notes. A firm, tannic texture gives this full-bodied wine plenty of grip.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Tench Vineyard is a stunning example of eastern Oakville Cabernet. It’s loaded with scents of cassis and red plum and tinged with faint hints of thyme and sage, and it’s full-bodied, rich and relatively open-knit. Ripe, plush and layered, gently framed by cedar and vanilla, it’s lovely stuff that should drink well for up to two decades. (Joe Czerwinski)

I loved the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Tench Vineyard. This beauty is a great representation of this terroir, with mineral-drenched aromas and flavors of blueberries, iron, chocolate, graphite, and candied violets. Deep, rich, and full-bodied, it’s another monster of a wine from Bevan that stays beautifully balanced and seamless. (Jeb Dunnuck)

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Tench Vineyard is packed with inky dark fruit, gravel, smoke, licorice, lavender, chocolate incense and spice. This powerful, virile Cabernet needs a few years to unwind, but it is super-impressive, even in the early going. A whole range of bold, savory accents lend character to the searingly intense finish. This is a very typical wine from Tench in its sheer heft. (Antonio Galloni)

RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 21st Jul 2022
The 2019 Bin 600 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The Cabernet Sauvignon is from a selection of vineyards across Napa, “and there is a little it of Sonoma in there as well,” says Peter Gago. The Shiraz is from the Paso Robles vineyard; it’s a 78/22 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The fruit heres is so sweet and plush—there is a distinct red berry character that settles and plumes on the mid-palate. Texturally, it is supple, silky and almost plump. 2019 was generally mild and good, and it has produced a suite of wines that are luscious and opulent. The tannins are the framework that drags the fruit back from the edge and brings balance and form to the wine. Smart. (Erin Larkin)

Schrader RBS Cabernet Sauvignon | Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard 2019 / 750 ml.

Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard
2019 / 750 ml.

Item #: 99183

RP97+97+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 15th Sep 2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon RBS Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is Clone 337, matured 18 months in 100% new Darnajou and Taransaud barrels. Marked on the nose by red berries, cherries and cedar, plus delicate cinnamon and clove shadings, this is a plush, concentrated full-bodied wine with a core of firmness to it and a long, lingering finish, both positive signs for aging. It’s one of the more approachable Schrader wines this vintage, but it should easily go another two decades. (Joe Czerwinski)
JD9797 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 12/21/2021
Lots of violets, flowery incense, cassis, and spice notes emerge from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard RBS, a full-bodied, silky, elegant 2019 that shines just as much for its purity and balance as its richness and depth. Possessing good acidity, a lively, vibrant mouthfeel, supple tannins, and a great finish, it has plenty of up-front appeal yet should easily evolve for a solid 20 years if properly stored. (Jeb Dunnuck)

Racy, dark nose with pulpy character. Dried lychee, lavender and sandalwood. This is quite juicy, ample and almost a bit ethereal, despite the color and high alcohol. There is a fine twist of salinity on the palate that runs smoothly with lots of purple flowers. Really immaculate. Almost soft texture. Drink or hold.
SP9696 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 31, 2022
Gushes with pure violet, plum and cassis notes, all flecked with hints of black tea, anise and sassafras. Driven, with a graphite underpinning providing a spine that stays in the background as the fruit stretches out. Approachable already but no rush at all. Drink now through 2038. 1,500 cases made. The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is brilliant and has classic varietal aromas and flavors of cassis and dark currants as well as tobacco, cedar pencil, espresso, and spring flowers. With medium to full body, a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, silky tannins, and impeccable balance, it’s well worth seeking out and a multi-bottle purchase. I’d certainly be thrilled to have bottles in the cellar. It will have 15–20 years of longevity. (Jeb Dunnuck)
