Critical Acclaim

RP91 Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate 14th Jul 2022

"Deep ruby-purple, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley offers lush blackcurrants and black cherries with touches of eucalyptus, milk chocolate, dried thyme and vanilla bean on the nose. The medium-bodied palate is soft and plush, with concentrated, chocolaty fruits and a long, spicy finish. (Erin Brooks)" (91 pts.)

SP88 Wine Spectator Web only – 2022

"Shows cherry and plum paste notes allied to a red licorice spine, with a lightly roasted apple wood note framing the juicy finish. Drink now through 2026. 1,800 cases made. (James Molesworth)" (88 pts.)

JD90 Jeb Dunnuck 3/10/2022

"A good value, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley has plenty of classic darker cassis and currant-like fruits as well as medium to full body, hints of spicy oak and tobacco, silky tannins, and outstanding length. This charming, balanced, delicious 2019 should be drunk over the coming decade. 1800 cases. (Jeb Dunnuck)" (90 pts.)

JS92 JamesSuckling.com Thursday, November 4, 2021

"Ripe blackcurrants and blackberries, framed with notes of sweet vanilla, eucalyptus and chocolate. Full-bodied, soft and mellow. Polished tannins and a ripe fruit core with a long finish. Chewy at the end, with a cola undertone. Better from 2023." (92 pts.)

Napa Valley

Napa Valley is California's -- and America's -- most famous and celebrated wine district. Located north of San Francisco, Napa Valley is most famous for its world-class Cabernets and Chardonnays. The region's acclaim officially took off following a 1976 tasting in Paris when renowned judges chose a Napa Chardonnay and Cabernet over top French wines made from the same grapes.

Most wineries in the region produce either a Chardonnay or a Cabernet, and usually it's both. Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel are also grown with success in Napa Valley. You'll likely recognize the names of some of the viticultural areas within Napa Valley, including St. Helena, Stag's Leap and Carneros.

California

When it comes to US wine production, California is King. California wines account for almost 90% of all wines produced in the United States each year, and is home to the most celebrated vineyards and producers in the country. California is probably best known for its world-famous Cabernets and Chardonnays, many of which hail from its two most-acclaimed AVAs, Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Other prominent grapes used in California wines include Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfandel (which California made popular).

United States

The United States now ranks fourth in the world in wine production behind, France, Italy, and Spain. While about 90% of that wine is produced in California, other states like Oregon, New York, and Washington are establishing themselves as prime spots for wine production, as well. Just about any variety of wine can be found in production somewhere in the United States.
