Take your time swirling your glass and this wine will reward you with aromas like redcurrants, blackberries and yellow cake batter. Black cherry, orange peel, cranberry, fennel and cedar flavors are supported by firm tannins and lemony acidity. (Michael Alberty)

This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah is a Washington staple that always put a smile on my face. It over delivers on quality once again, starting off with aromas of crushed raspberries, lemon drops and a wee bit of pepper. Flavors like blackberry tea and citrus complement the wine’s tangy acidity and slippery texture. (Michael Alberty)

I was impressed by this balanced blend of 40% each of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, with 20% Merlot. It has a fresh and floral nose, with plenty of hyacinth, freesia, boysenberry and nutmeg aromas. A lithe and elegant texture escorts boysenberry jam, orange and ginger flavors across the pleasure finish line. (Michael Alberty)

This is an elegant red with aromas ranging from dried earth, sage and black olives to mulberries, mocha and peaches. It’s medium- to full-bodied, silky and refined, with firm yet seamless tannins. 81% cabernet sauvignon 7% petit verdot, 5% merlot, 4% cabernet franc and 3% malbec. Try from 2025. (James Suckling)

Made with the addition of 7% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec, the 2021 Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon is a broad, structured and generously layered wine. It exhibits a full-bodied and complex profile with juicy freshness, fine-grained tannins and a dusty essence of dark red and black fruits. Ending with a plummy finish, this wine promises to evolve and drink even better in the coming years. The wine matured for 22 months in new and once-filled French oak barrels and neutral oval botti. A total of 35,292 bottles are ready for release. (Anthony Mueller)

This is a firm, focused red showing dark chocolate, black plums, ink and tobacco on the nose. Deep and sturdy with a full body and firm, polished tannins. Very classy. 75% cabernet sauvignon, 14% malbec, 7% petit verdot and 4% merlot. Try after 2025. (James Suckling)
RP95+95+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 21st Mar 2024
The expressive and bold 2021 Walla Walla Reserve is layered with abundant dusty dark red and black fruit essences, complemented by subtle notes of brown baking spices, juicy tobacco and cedar. Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with 14% Malbec, 7% Petit Verdot and 4% Merlot, this wine offers an immensely powerful and seductive nose of dusty red flowers and succulent spices. Although full-bodied and generously layered, this beauty is still tight and requires at least two more years in the bottle to reach its full potential, promising to age gracefully for over two decades. Your patience will be rewarded. Decanting is recommended. The wine rested for 22 months in a mix of new and once-filled French oak. Just under 12,000 bottles were made. (Anthony Mueller)

This wine displays a pleasing mix of elevated acidity, silky tannins and restrained alcohol. Aromatically, it is a heady mix of blackberries, straw and oily, dark-roasted coffee beans. It feels crisp and lively in the mouth, with flavors like blackberries, sweet, buttery edamame and a ristretto shot of espresso. (Michael Alberty)

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Cs is going to be another terrific value from this team. Cassis, blackberries, sage, tobacco, and leafy herb notes all define the aromatics, and it’s medium-bodied, balanced, and elegant on the palate. It’s going to shine right out of the gate. (Jeb Dunnuck)

A polished and full-bodied cabernet with creamy layers of blackcurrants, cocoa powder, nutmeg and blackberry fruit, surrounded by ripe and velvety tannins. Delicious finish. 77% cabernet sauvignon, 13% merlot and 10% cabernet franc. Drink or hold. (James Suckling)

The aromatic combination of blackberries and lavender-scented Epsom salts is quite elegant. It will also make you long for a bath to be drawn. Bold acidity showcases flavors like black cherry, orange-pekoe tea and spicy clove. The wine’s texture is sleek and slippery. (Michael Alberty)

The blend has changed a bit with this latest Walter Clore Private Reserve, now 53% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Cabernet Franc — no Malbec. It seems a bit chewy and chalky. The fruit has a slightly candied aspect, with suggestions of fruitcake.

The 2016 Merlot H3 is a pure expression of a Merlot that has a fresh and fruity nose, showing a mix of American and French oak aromas. Sweet vanilla and toasted coconut, Juicy red plum and dark cherries all can be tasted on the medium-bodied palate with soft floral flavors. Ending with a good, clean finish, the wine is easy-drinking and delivers well for the price. 120,000 cases were made.

This hedonistic treat is a well-executed take on the buttery-creamy style of Chardonnay. The wine features coconut and warm apple-pie aromas, with a splash of rose water on the nose. Flavors such as lemon butter, spicy cinnamon and caramel apple fill every nook and cranny of the olfactory system. (Michael Alberty)
