RP95+95+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Jul 2022
The 2019 CV (Curriculum Vitae) is a field blend from 80-year-old vines aged for 21 months in 80% new French oak. It comes in at 15% alcohol. Burly and disjointed, this will be the next release of CV (January 2023, along with the 2019 Branco CV). This is too young to show all it has, but it seems to be very promising; it’s just completely closed and rather tannic. This will need to be seen again, but it is certainly filled with potential and seems to have all of the components to make a great wine. (Mark Squires)

Notes of purple fruits, walnuts, leather and wet earth. Full-bodied with structure and depth. Full and broad-shouldered tannins with a velvety finish. Rich and concentrated. A little old school, but solid. Single vineyard of three-hectares. Needs at least three or four years to come around. (James Suckling)

Epoch Ingenuity

2018 / 750 ml.

JD9696 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 9/30/2021
Lots of blue fruits, ground pepper, candied violets, and chalky minerality emerge from the 2018 Ingenuity, a pure, medium to full-bodied, seamless beauty with fine tannins and no hard edges. Like all Jordan’s 2018s, it holds onto a terrific sense of freshness and elegance. The blend is 36% Petite Sirah, 30% Syrah, 22% Mourvèdre, and the rest Grenache, and comes mostly from the estate Paderewski Vineyard. (Jeb Dunnuck)
RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Nov 2021
The 2018 Ingenuity is a blend of 36% Petite Sirah, 30% Syrah, 22% Mourvèdre and 12% Grenache, aged 19 months in 52% new French oak. Opaque in color, it explodes with gregarious blackberry and black cherry jam underpinned by dark, savory spices and wafts of purple flowers. The palate is full-bodied and firm, with loads of lush, spicy dark fruits and just enough juicy acidity to highlight the floral perfume on the long finish. 828 cases were made. (Erin Brooks)
WE9393 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 4/1/2022
Rustic aromas of herb, tar and tart berry show on the nose of this blend of 36% Petite Sirah, 30% Syrah, 22% Mourvèdre and 12% Grenache. Elderberry and black currant provide more ripe qualities to the palate, where chalky tannins lead into a finish awash in dried oregano and thyme. There, the elements will grow more compelling with time. Drink now through 2034. (Matt Kettmann)
