Burgundy wine is the other most highly-celebrated of the French bottlings. Situated in the northeastern part of the country, the cooler climate is perfectly suited to the Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs which are produced.
White wines from Burgundy range from the ripe, mellow Macons, to the textured, sophisticated Montrachets, to the crisp, minerally Chablis. Red wines from Burgundy tend to be leaner with more acidity and lots of earthy, mushroomy flavors.

WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/1/2011 Part of a range of wines created by Jean-Charles Boisset of Boisset Family Estates. This Crémant is crisply apple and lemon flavored, a bone-dry, textured wine that is destined for food. It finishes with elegant acidity.
SP8888 pts. - Wine Spectator - Sep 30, 2021 The richness of this fresh, lively white is tempered by its juicy acidity, making the peach, melon and lemon flavors accessible. Drink now. 6,000 cases made, 5,000 cases imported.
VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2020 The 2018 Marsannay Boivin is very fragrant and floral on the nose, where crushed violet and peony scents underlie the opulent black fruit. The palate is silky-smooth on the entry, one of Roty’s most polished Marsannay cuvées, with a slightly tarry, spicy finish. Great energy here. This should age well in bottle. Highly recommended.
WE9393 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/1/2021 Notes of smoke, toast and dill introduce this broad-shouldered Chardonnay. Matured in 15% to 20% French oak, it has piercing lemon and tangerine flavors layered in smoky, savory oak accents but maintains a vitality and freshness throughout. The wine needs time to meld but should approach peak from 2024 and improve through 2035.SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Sep 30, 2021 Light and airy, yet with no shortage of intensity or length, offering toast, iodine, oyster shell, lime blossom and citrus aromas and flavors that make this enticing. Drink now through 2025. 1,489 cases made, 250 cases imported.VN89+89–91 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2020 The 2019 Meursault Les Chevalières has a clean, crisp bouquet of subtle peachy aromas mixed with honeysuckle. The palate is well balanced with sappy white peach and yellow plum, and quite weighty in the mouth, delivering a pleasant saline bite on the finish. Lots of energy here and good potential.
SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Dec 15, 2021 A silky, lemon-infused white, with a crisp structure and mineral component underneath. Flashes of peach and apple add depth as this converges on the pastry-inflected finish. Drink now through 2025. 58,259 cases imported.RP8888 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 5th Aug 2021 The 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé (Maison Louis Jadot) is pretty, wafting from the glass with scents of white flowers, citrus zest and musky peach. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and precise, it’s nicely concentrated, with bright acids and a saline finish.
SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2021 A pretty red, this boasts violet, black currant, raspberry and earth aromas and flavors. Vibrant and well defined, with a lingering, chalky finish. Drink now through 2025. 1,500 cases imported.WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 7/1/2021 This Beaune-based negociant house has made a richly dense wine that is packed with succulent black fruits and freshened with acidity. It is a satisfying wine, ripe and with a balanced structure. Drink from late 2021.
VN92+92–94 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2020 The 2018 Chablis Vosgros 1er Cru is a very pretty and expressive wine. Citrus peel, white flowers, mint and white pepper are all beautifully lifted in a gracious, airy Chablis built on aromatics, structure and understated class. Soft, silky contours avoid any sense of austerity in a very pretty Chablis that will drink well with minimal cellaring. This is one of the most elegant, nuanced wines I have ever tasted from Didier Picq.
