Shop French Bordeaux Wine

Red Bordeaux wine is almost always blended, with two major grapes (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot) making up the bulk of the wine, and potentially small quantities of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot and/or Carmenere can be added. White wine from Bordeaux will also be blended, predominantly with Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.

The blend and style will vary depending from which Bordeaux wine region the grapes are sourced, with softer Merlot-driven reds coming out of the Right Bank, more muscular Cab-driven reds from the Left Bank and the best crisp whites from between the two rivers.

  3. Roche Darjac Bordeaux

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#80734

    RP8585 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Sep 2016
The 2015 Roche Darjac is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. It delivers a pleasant redcurrant and cranberry bouquet, what you might call a little “solid” but with plenty of fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with powdered chocolate sprinkled over the black and red fruit, chunky and big-boned but packed with flavor on the finish. This is a decent, commercial Bordeaux wine at a bargain price, but give it a year in bottle if you can.

  11. Domaine du Bouscat Caduce

    2012 / 750 ml. | Item#82406

    RP8888 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Apr 2015
The 2012 Caduce (70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance Malbec and Cabernet Franc) is a major over-achiever. Delicious, ripe black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, spice and earth jump from the glass of this dense ruby/purple wine. Medium-bodied, fleshy and plump, this is a hedonistic tour de force that should drink nicely for another 3–4 years.
    VN8888 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2016
Dark red cherry, plum, smoke and leather meld together in Domaine du Bouscat’s 2012 Caduce. Drink this fleshy, open-knit wine over the next few years. As always, Caduce is ripe and racy in style. At around $15 a bottle, Caduce is also one of the very best values readers will find in Bordeaux, anywhere for that matter. The 2012 is 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec and 5% Cabernet Franc.

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#61294

    WE8686 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 4/1/2019
This fresh, black-currant-flavored wine balances attractive fruitiness against light tannins and plenty of acidity. Partially aged in wood, this bright wine will be ready to drink from late 2019.
