This late harvest wine from Hungary is comprised of Furmint, Hárslevelu and Muscat. It has aromas of acacia flower and pear, with flavors of apricot, pear juice and dried rosemary. The finish is pleasantly sweet without being too cloying.

  4. Château Sigalas Rabaud Sauternes

    Premier Cru Classé
    2010 / 375 ml. | Item#82191

    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Apr 2014
Though Sigalas-Rabaud 2010 was extremely promising out-of-barrel, I never expected that it would trump d’Yquem in a blind tasting once in bottle. It has an engaging, pure and lifted bouquet with scents of lemon curd, honey, ripe oranges and quince that are extremely well-defined. The palate is well-defined with a fine line of acidity, crisp mineralite and tension. This is very composed and tightly wound, a Sauternes probably built for the long-term and not giving too much away now. Yet the class is already tangible. This is one of the best wines from the estate in recent years. Drink now–2030+.
    ST90+90–93 pts. - Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar - Jul/Aug 2011
Bright golden yellow. Vibrant nose offers deep aromas of white flowers, mango, peach and orange jam lifted by tangy botrytis. Clean, fresh and stylish, with sweet, juicy flavors of peppery yellow plum, tangerine and banana cream pie. Lively but harmonious acidity gives this wine a touch of austerity on the smooth, long finish. This should greatly repay cellaring.

  5. Château Guiraud Sauternes

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#83161

    JS96+96–97 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Friday, April 1, 2016
This is really something. I have never tasted a Guiraud like this. This is full-bodied yet so fresh and incredibly crisp and lively. Spicy and energetic. Fantastic acidity!
    RP94+94–96 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 1st Apr 2016
The 2015 Guiraud, tasted in two occasions, has a sumptuous bouquet with scents of wild honey, apricot and a faint smear of marmalade. The palate is fresh and tensile on the entry, brimming with energy with impressive energy towards the blood orange and quince-tinged finish. This is a stylish, suave Guiraud that should age beautifully in bottle.
    WE94+94–96 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 5/1/2016
This wine is packed with dry botrytis flavor, but also a bright freshness. Together they give an obviously sweet wine good structure as well as ripeness. The tension between the fruit and the mineral texture will allow this wine to age for many years.
    SP93+93–96 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2016
Very expressive, with nectarine, mirabelle plum, green plum and white peach notes melding well, backed by a pronounced honeysuckle edge. Shows excellent range, with power in reserve.

  6. Disznókű Aszú 5 Puttonyos

    2011 / 500 ml. | Item#93645

    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Oct 2016
Tasted at the Disznóko vertical in London, the 2011 Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos is 100% Furmint (Aszu grapes). It has an expressive and focused, bouquet, spice and dried honey, white flowers and candle wax. The palate is classic in style and actually almost Sauternes-like. It is certainly very well balanced and minerally, gently caressing the mouth with a linear finish that lingers nice. There is a little nuttiness here and a pleasing salinity coming through with continued aeration. This is lovely in a more understated Tokaji style. Tasted September 2016.

  10. Amatus Dulce

    2011 / 375 ml. | Item#75931

    WE8787 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 11/1/2012
Midnight purple in color, this has legs as thick as an elephant’s. It smells like boysenberry jam, spice and bacon, then feels like motor oil on the palate, with flavors of black fruit, chocolate and boysenberry syrup. It lacks complexity, but it hits hard with concentration, power and sweetness.

  11. Château d’Yquem Sauternes

    2011 / 375 ml. | Item#78251

    SP9999 pts. - Wine Spectator - Mar 31, 2014
A lovely, creamy, tropical style, with mango, papaya and guava notes lending a caressing feel, while singed almond and warm piecrust accents blossom through the lush finish. Just when you think that’s all there is, toasted coconut, fig, orange blossom and persimmon details kick in, lending length and dimension. The finish is ridiculously long. Best from 2020 through 2060.
    ST97+97–100 pts. - Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar - Jul/Aug 2012
Bright yellow-gold. Captivating nose is marked by sexy lemony botrytis, white peach, mango, guava and saffron. Enters the mouth very dense but remarkably vibrant and pristine thanks to lively acidity, then turns richer and more unctuous in the mid-palate, displaying knockout flavors of fresh tropical fruit, white peach, white flowers, beeswax and wet stone. The finish is pure and extremely long. This amazing young Yquem, one of the finest in the last dozen years, perfectly combines elements of the fresher, more refined Yquems of the recent Dubourdieu years with the more exotic, opulent personality of the wines made under Alexandre de Lur Saluces. The harvest began on September 6 (only in 1893 did it begin earlier) with the young sauvignon blanc vines and even some semillon to preserve freshness. There were four tries in total, ending on October 5. General Manager Pierre Lurton told me that picking practically all the botrytized grapes very quickly in September was the key to guaranteeing a pure, fresh botrytis component. Sandrine Garbay, who has been maitre de chai at d’Yquem for 18 years, also believes this to be one of the top Yquems in recent memory, though it really doesn't remind her of any previous Yquem vintage with possible exception of the 2001.
    RP9797 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Oct 2013
The 2011 d’Yquem seems to be a close cousin of the 2001 and possibly the 1988. Light gold in color, restrained but pure and noble, it offers an intense bouquet of honeysuckle, caramelized apricot and white peach with a subtle hint of toasty oak. It builds slowly but beautifully to a full-bodied wine with a long finish. This vintage is about restraint and perfect balance despite the 144 grams of residual sugar. Some vintages are more exuberant or flamboyant, but 2011 is racy and compelling. Of course, these wines can be drunk young, but expect the 2011 to age for 50–75+ years in a good cellar.
