Great depth comes with impeccable balance in this beautifully proportioned wine that is silky and bracing at the same time. Bright acidity mingles with ripe Bosc pears, cream and toast flavors that linger nicely on the finish. Collectible and age-worthy, it will only improve with time. Best from 2026–2036. (Jim Gordon)
SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jul 31, 2023
Fleshy, with honey-drizzled crisp apple, pear and melon flavors, plus spice accents that add warmth to the fruit core. Reveals a hint of graham cracker crust that lingers on the harmonious finish. Drink now through 2029. 765 cases made. (MaryAnn Worobiec)
RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 15th Jun 2023
The 2020 Chardonnay Rochioli Vineyard has pretty scents of baked apples, honey, roasted almonds and honeysuckle. The medium-bodied palate is satiny and expansive with a core of savory fruit balanced by bright acidity, and it finishes long and layered. (Erin Brooks)

Wonderful butter and toasted oak aromas start this full-bodied wine off nicely, before vivid Pippin apples, lemon zest and pineapples kick up the palate. It shows a vibrancy and balance that are appetizing and bode well for further aging. Best through 2030. (Jim Gordon)

DuMOL Wester Reach Pinot Noir

2021 / 750 ml.

Item #: 800

JS9595 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Tuesday, April 4, 2023
A wine with a lot of back end, with dark fruits of blackberry and cherry. Ripe strawberry. Hints of toasted oak and smoke. It’s full and layered with very firm and polished tannins. Very serious and real, and shows the structure of the vintage. Some chocolate. Strawberry pie, too. Drinkable but two to three years of age will help it. (James Suckling)
VN90+90–92 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2023
The 2021 Pinot Noir Wester Reach is fabulous. Bright and explosive, the Wester Reach is a fabulous introduction to the vintage at DuMOL. Red/purplish fruit, lavender, rose petal and kirsch are all pushed forward. This vibrant Russian River Pinot Noir is a total knock out. (Antonio Galloni)
SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Sep 30, 2023
Plump and juicy, with a forthright mix of raspberry and boysenberry compote flavors fueled by light hibiscus, licorice and rose petal details through the finish. Drink now through 2026. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 3,000 cases made. (James Molesworth)

A structured and layered white with apple, light honey and acacia aromas and flavors. Medium to full body. Creamy mouthfeel. Phenolic texture that runs through the wine. Flavorful yet subtle finish. Touch of flint and cedar. Drink or hold. (James Suckling)
VN90+90–92 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2023
The 2021 Chardonnay Wester Reach is bright and nicely focused. Lemon peel, white flowers, chalk and white pepper all lend tons of nuance. Vineyard sites are Flax, Cornerstone, Heintz, Lorenzo and El Diablo. There’s terrific energy and focus here. (Antonio Galloni)

Direct, with cherry, plum and raspberry compote flavors mixed with a streak of red licorice. Moderate toast lets the fruit keep the upper hand. For fans of the style. Drink now through 2023. 6,000 cases made. (James Molesworth)

Kamen Cabernet Sauvignon

Item #: 766

VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is mostly Martini clone from the core of the estate. A heady, ample wine, the 2019 is endowed with striking opulence. Blackberry jam, chocolate, spice, new leather, licorice and mocha shows tremendous depth. Attractive floral notes emerge with a bit of aeration, adding brightness. The contours are remarkably soft for a young mountain Cabernet. These wines age beautifully, their youthful opulence notwithstanding, so I would not be in a rush here. (Antonio Galloni)
SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jul 31, 2022
Alluring, with steeped plum and cassis notes cruising through, backed by lively licorice snap, bramble and sweet tobacco accents. A long echo of singed alder permeates on the finish. Best from 2023 through 2034. 2,250 cases made. (James Molesworth)

A silky smooth texture sets this wine apart from the pack as it doles out succulent black cherries, blackberries and subtle oak spices on soft tannins. Easy to appreciate and great for casual occasions. (Jim Gordon)

WS8989 pts. - Wine & Spirits - December 1, 2011
This wine is finely integrated and creamy in texture, more about richness than freshness. It finishes tight and leesy. Serve with prawns in cream sauce.
WE8888 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 11/1/2017
Made predominantly from Pinot Noir, this is an easygoing, approachable sparkling wine, offering dry creamy layers of green apple, pear and strawberry. It also has a rich inviting mousse embedded with vanilla and marzipan.

Shop for Wines from Sonoma County

Sonoma wineries are famed for being more laid-back than their Napa counterparts, but their wines are still serious and sophisticated nevertheless. Some of the better-known Sonoma wineries include Benziger, Deloach, Gallo Family Vineyards and Simi Winery.

Sonoma is home to a number of smaller boutique wineries such as Capture and Mauritson as well. The cooler coastal climate make many parts of Sonoma ideal for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, while areas like Dry Creek Valley are known for their spicy, robust Zins.
