View more wines from Argentina

Argentina took the wine world spotlight in the late 20th century with its plush, smooth Malbec. While the popular red grape still reigns supreme, Argentine wineries are increasingly putting forth excellent examples of multiple varietals, all at the extraordinary bargains that make this region so accessible.

Now the fifth largest wine-producing nation in the world, Argentina enjoys high-altitude and low-humidity vineyard sites, comparatively unencumbered by insects and disease. Argentina’s unique terroir has captured the interest of such internationally celebrated winemakers as Paul Hobbs and Michel Rolland, both of whom have projects in the country.

Quite a ripe malbec with some baked cherries, blackberries and a hint of stewed leafiness. Generous on the medium-bodied palate with some juicy berries and firm tannins. Sweet fruit in the finish. Drink now. Screw cap. (Zekun Shuai)

Tilia Bonarda 2016 / 750 ml.

2016 / 750 ml.

Item #: 78278

RP8888 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Dec 2016
The challenges of the vintage seem to have affected the 2016 Bonarda, which resulted in lower volume than in previous vintages. It has a balsamic and minty nose that made me think of Cabernet Sauvignon, with touches of basil leaves, a hint of curry and thyme, mostly aromas from the herbal side. It’s a different expression of Bonarda, it might disconcert some. It finishes very tasty, even salty. 80,000 bottles were produced in 2016.
