    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#94523

    RP94+94+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Oct 2018
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Proprietary Red Blend Family Reserve Generations is intensely scented of warm black and red currants, Black Forest cake and blueberry compote with nuances of chocolate mint, new leather, tilled soil and fallen leaves. Full-bodied with a taut frame of grainy tannins supporting the densely packed black fruit layers, it has a long lingering minty kick on the finish.
    SP9191 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 31, 2020
Features a solid range blackberry paste, fig and plum notes, with cassis bush, bittersweet cocoa and licorice root accents. The solidly grippy finish leaves a hefty impression, but this will have fans. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2021 through 2029. 2,400 cases made.

  3. Sullivan Rutherford Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#94977

    JD92+92+ pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - January 31, 2020
All three of the 2016s I was able to taste showed beautifully. Starting with the 2016 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, it’s a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot, brought up in 50% new oak. This is classic Cabernet all the way and offers lots of cassis, green tobacco, cedar, and dark chocolate. These carry to a medium to full-bodied 2016 that has ripe, present tannins, good purity, and an old school, complex, textbook Cabernet character. Give it 3–4 years and enjoy over the following two decades.

  5. Amici Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#95054

    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 5th Nov 2020
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is a blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color. It opens with expressive notes of warm cassis, black cherries, blackberries and fragrant earth with hints of bay leaves and black truffles. Medium to full-bodied, it delivers mouth-coating cassis flavors with compelling herbal sparks, framed by a lively backbone and wonderfully velvety tannins, finishing long. 10,000 cases were made.
    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2021
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is fabulous. Rich, plummy and forward, the Amici Napa Valley Cabernet makes a terrific introduction to the vintage. Even better, it is incredibly fairly priced. Succulent dark cherry, plum, mocha, spice and licorice are kicked up in this fleshy, open-knit Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink it over the next decade.
    WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 5/1/2021
With small elements of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc blended in, this nicely made red is bright and supple in addition to being well integrated. Herbal back notes of cedar and sage provide earthy context to the darkly brooding black fruit, finishing in a grip of tannin.
    JD9292 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - January 27, 2021
Moving to the Cabernet Sauvignon releases, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley reveals a dense purple color as well as a great bouquet of crème de cassis, scorched earth, camphor, new leather, and candied flowers. With medium to full-bodied richness, it offers terrific tannins and good mid-palate depth, with the fresh, pure, classy style of the vintage front and center. It competes with wines at two to three times the price and is going to evolve nicely for 10–12 years, if not longer.
    SP9191 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2021
Expressive, with a mix of red and black currant and blackberry flavors that are nicely defined, carried along by singed alder and tobacco accents that blossom through the finish. Drink now through 2028. 8,000 cases made.

  6. Amiral de Beychevelle Saint-Julien

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#95762

    JD9393 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 3/11/2021
A rock star of a second wine already offering pleasure, the 2018 Amiral De Beychevelle checks in as 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc that comes from the younger vines of the estate and slightly more sandy soils. This makes for a more up-front, fruit-driven wine that reveals a deep purple hue as well as sumptuous array of blueberries, black cherries, lead pencil shavings, tobacco, and spring flowers. It’s classic Bordeaux on the nose, yet has a wonderful sweetness of fruit, ripe, polished tannins, no hard edges, and just a balanced, seamless style that’s ideal for enjoying over the coming 10–15 years.
    JS9292 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Wednesday, March 3, 2021
Dark fruit with cedar and herbal notes on the nose. Some meat, too. It’s full-bodied with firm tannins. Juicy and savory character on the palate with a balanced structure. Flavorful finish. Second wine. Try after 2023 when it will be more together.

  7. Ramey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#96454

    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 12th Sep 2019
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 7% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot. Medium to deep ruby, it has an incredible nose of licorice, dried flowers and mint chocolate over black berries and black cherries, cedar shavings and pencil lead, plus spicy clove and star anise touches. Medium to full-bodied, it floods the mouth with plush flavor layers wrapped in chocolate-textured, pixelated tannins and great freshness to counter, finishing long and luscious. 7,177 cases produced.
    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 31, 2019
Features a dense core of cherry paste and plum fruit, laced with a range of blood orange, plum pit, grilled savory and chalk notes. Tightly focused, with the fruit remerging steadily through the finish. Will cellar well. Best from 2021 through 2034. 7,177 cases made.
    JD9292 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 6/14/2019
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a hot, sunny vintage yet has a pure, classy character. Notes of crème de cassis, tobacco, leafy herbs, and spring flowers are just some of the aromatics and it’s medium-bodied, elegant, and incredibly polished on the palate. It’s another wine from Ramey that’s nicely balanced, with terrific purity and loads of class.
    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Apr 2020
David Ramey’s 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is racy and inviting, with all of its natural exuberance on display. Another year in bottle has really helped the 2015 come together. Pretty red fruit and floral notes add a kick of brightness to balance the natural exuberance of the growing season.

  8. Andrew Will Sorella

    Champoux Vineyard
    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#94942

    JD9999 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - April 11, 2019
Flirting with perfection, the 2016 Sorella checks in as 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% each of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, and the balance Petit Verdot. Coming all from the Champoux Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills, its saturated purple color is followed by a La Mission Haut Brion-like bouquet of black and blue fruits, gravelly, minerality, smoke tobacco, and chocolate. Deep, multi-dimensional, full-bodied, and with beautiful complexity, it’s a magical wine as well as the finest wine from this estate to date. Bravo!
    RP96+96+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Dec 2019
The 2016 Sorella is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot. The plump, juicy nose exudes aromas of luxurious, elegant fruit characteristics of ripe blackberry and dark plum along with a layered core of oak and a structured floral bouquet. Exciting and thought-provoking on the full-bodied palate, fruit and oak spices radiate with the precision and focus of world-class wine, building to a plushier, fruit-forward expression on the mid-palate yet showing a mineral focus. The finish is long and winding, with layers that continue to evolve in the mouth, unfolding to a generous and intricate lingering expression. Only 472 cases were made, and it will be your lucky day if you can add some of this stellar wine to your cellar. Bravo!
    VN91+91+ pts. - Vinous - Dec 2019
Bright ruby-red. Brooding scents of blackberry, blueberry, licorice, menthol and graphite. Dense but sharply delineated and penetrating, with black and blue fruit flavors conveying terrific energy and juiciness that mask the wine’s thickness. Still, this can’t quite match the more Merlot-based Champoux Vineyard blend for density. This wine boasts serious Cabernet Sauvignon structure, finishing with lovely mounting violet lift and length. Firmly tannic but not hard. This, too, should evolve slowly but even today it’s balanced and enjoyable. I suppose it’s a bit more tannic and less pliant than the Andrew Will ’16s that contain more Merlot, but none of these wines lack for definition or spine.

  9. Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#94940

    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Jun 2018
The 2016 Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon was bottled November 2017 and was also available for tasting even though the wine will be released in 2019. It’s a phenomenal effort of freshness, elegance and finesse while being faithful to the variety. Really impressive. 9,600 bottles produced.
    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2018
Bright ruby-red. Less deep on the nose than the 2015 version but pungent and fresh, with red fruit and spicy red pepper aromas accented by an herbal suggestion of tobacco leaf. Leaner and less sweet than the 2015 but still a bit youthfully tight. With less dimension and depth, the tannins come off as slightly dry. This wine suffers by comparison to many of the current red wine releases from Catena Zapata but it’s still a success in the context of its vintage.
