  1. Saxon Brown Zinfandel, Fighting Brothers

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#93117

    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Feb 2017
Deep garnet in color, the 2014 Zinfandel Fighting Brothers offers an abundance of black fruit preserves and blueberry pie notes plus underlying spice cake, incense and chocolate box hints. The richly fruited, full-bodied palate is packed with dried berries and spice layers, framed by velvety tannins and much needed freshness, which contributes a lively lift to the weighty finish.

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#88071

    SP9595 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 15, 2018
Enticing, with bright, engaging raspberry, cherry and red currant fruit infused with gently roasted sandalwood and apple wood, garrigue and licorice root notes. A swath of tobacco underscores the finish, giving this an old-school hint. Best from 2020 through 2040. 2,500 cases made.
    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Aug 2018
Made from 50- to 80-year-old vines, the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape offers tremendous purity for an entry-level cuvée. Pine and rosemary notes accent bright cherry fruit in this full-bodied, creamy textured and lush example of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The assemblage is 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre. Enjoy it over the next decade.

    2020 / 750 ml. | Item#87005

    SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Aug 31, 2022
A briar patch of a wine, with zesty wild berry, underbrush and licorice flavors that finish with medium-grained tannins. Drink now through 2030. 4,000 cases made. (Tim Fish)
    VN8989 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2020 Zinfandel Old Vine is a forward, boisterous wine that will drink well right out of the gate. In this vintage, the Old Vine is especially perfumed, a reflection of the sites used in this year’s blend. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry, spice, licorice and tobacco are nicely pushed forward. The Old Vine is built on a core from Bedrock, plus dollops from Esola, Schmiedt Road and Nervo Ranch. It’s about 85% Zinfandel and 15% mixed blacks. Drink it over the next handful of years. (Antonio Galloni)
