  1. Rengo Amarone della Valpolicella Classico

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#92899

    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Feb 29, 2020
Toffee, dried mint, singed orange peel and iron accents waft from the glass of this full-bodied version. On the palate this is less forthcoming, with flavors of crushed black cherry, melted licorice and espresso cream tightly knit to dense, fine-grained tannins. Let this mouthwatering red shine with decanting or short-term cellaring. Best from 2022 through 2032. 2,000 cases made, 2,000 cases imported.

    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Feb 2017
Deep garnet in color, the 2014 Zinfandel Fighting Brothers offers an abundance of black fruit preserves and blueberry pie notes plus underlying spice cake, incense and chocolate box hints. The richly fruited, full-bodied palate is packed with dried berries and spice layers, framed by velvety tannins and much needed freshness, which contributes a lively lift to the weighty finish.

  5. Catena Alta Malbec

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#93600

    RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Jun 2018
I also had the chance to taste the 2016 Catena Alta Malbec, when they used a higher percentage of grapes from Nicasia. In this vintage, it’s truly 100% Malbec that fermented in tank with full clusters and finished fermenting after pressing, without skins. It’s serious and elegant, with the year’s signature freshness. 2016 has really marked the wines with great freshness. This is serious and with zero sweetness, complete and direct. 42,000 bottles produced.
    JD9292 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - February 25, 2019
Made from 100% Malbec from a number of vineyards (Angélica, La Pirámide, Nicasia and Adrianna) fermented and aged in 70% new barrels, the 2016 Malbec Historic Rows is an incredibly elegant, seamless wine that has an almost Burgundian style in its mulberry, blueberries, incense, forest floor, and spring flower-laced aromas and flavors. Beautiful on the palate as well, with medium to full body, supple tannins, and terrific balance, this is one of those wines that grows on you with time in the glass and shines on all accounts. Drink it any time over the coming decade or more.

  7. Domaine Roucas de Saint Pierre Gigondas

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#92366

    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2020
Deep glistening ruby. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red and blue fruits, candied flowers and baking spices, and a bright mineral element emerges with air. Seamless, sweet and energetic on the palate, offering juicy Chambord and boysenberry flavors that show sharp delineation and a hint of smokiness on the back half. Finishes very long and smooth, with even tannins framing lingering red fruit and floral notes.
    RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Aug 2018
A 70-30 blend of Grenache and Syrah, aged all in concrete, this 2016 Gigondas delivers notes of black cherries, cinnamon, and mocha. It’s full-bodied, supple and creamy in texture on the mid-palate, then firms up on the finish to show some slightly dry tannins. Give it a year or two in the cellar and drink it over the next decade.

  8. Tenuta Tignanello Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#91955

    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 19th Sep 2019
The 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva Marchese Antinori is Sangiovese enhanced with touches of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Renzo Cotarella and the extended technical team at Marchesi Antinori are working hard on perfecting their tannin management, and the beautiful results are evident across this line of new releases from the classic 2016 vintage. The finish is silky and long, and the tannins are never dry. The fruit is evident and bright with wild cherry, rose and Italian garden herb.
    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Aug 2019
The 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva Marchese Antinori emerges entirely from Antinori’s Tignanello estate. Plump and forward, with juicy dark fruit, the Marchese Antinori is done in a decidedly modern, lush style. Mocha, sweet spice, licorice and black plum meld into the creamy finish. The 2016 is attractive, but I can’t help thinking a lighter hand in the cellar might yield a wine with greater finesse and expression of place.
    SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jul 31, 2019
A hefty dose of spicy oak wraps around the black cherry, plum and leather flavors. Muscular and broad, with a lingering aftertaste of fruit, tar and spice. Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2021 through 2028. 5,000 cases imported.

Lithe and delicately balanced, with vibrant lemon custard, blanched almond and steely citrus tones that take on richness and speed on the long finish. Drink now. 33,263 cases made.
    WE9393 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2020
Lively citrus flavors are nicely tempered by almond and bread-dough nuances in this elegant, well-balanced and rich-tasting wine. It offers more than fresh fruit, adding aged-on-the-lees complexity for a very tempting expression.

This full-bodied red is generous yet structured, featuring depth and balance. 11. Sardus Pater Arruga

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#93964

    JS9595 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Friday, October 20, 2017
Lots of spice and licorice with some asphalt. Roses, too. Full body, round and chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Dense and long. A gorgeous red. Such structure. Drink or hold.
    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Dec 2017
Made with fruit from pre-phylloxera vines, the 2013 Carignano del Sulcis Superiore Arruga is a compelling expression with a bold and direct aromatic delivery that is super thick and concentrated. Dark fruit tones are followed by spice, leather and tobacco. The wine’s overall definition is muted or soft, but its power and intensity is significant nonetheless. The alcohol is recorded at 15%. The wine moves smoothly and thickly over the palate in slow, enriched waves. Only 5,000 bottles were produced.

  13. The Ojai Vineyard Chardonnay Puerta del Mar

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#93852

    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Aug 2020
The 2018 Chardonnay Puerta Del Mar is bright and finely sculpted. Lemon oil, white flowers, mint, and a range of saline-infused overtones all grace the 2018. Weightless and yet full of flavor, the 2018 is positively stellar. It is yet another fabulous white in this range of new releases from Ojai and a terrific example of the far western edge of Santa Barbara County that is outside of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation.
    JD9494 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - August 4, 2020
Lemon curd, golden apple, white flowers, ground spices, and bright citrus all emerge from the 2018 Chardonnay Puerta Del Mar Vineyard, another medium-bodied, silky, beautifully pure Chardonnay with loads of character. There are 442 cases made and, as with all the Chardonnay here, it was raised mostly in neutral oak.
    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Oct 2020
The 2018 Chardonnay Puerta del Mar is wonderfully expressive this vintage, with a pretty perfume of musk, coriander seed, elderflower and white apricots. The medium-bodied palate is rounded and silky, unfurling delicately and lifted by fresh acidity on the long finish. 442 cases produced.

  14. My Favorite Neighbor Harvey & Harriet

    Red Wine Blend
    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#94465

    JD9494 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - September 1, 2020
Moving to the reds, the entry-level Harvey and Harriet is always made in a richer, softer style compared to the classic My Favorite Neighbor cuvée. The 2018 offers a big, juicy bouquet of crème de cassis and jammy blackberries interwoven with lots of tobacco, cedar pencil, and earthy, foresty aromas and flavors. This ripe yet medium to full-bodied, polished, elegant beauty will drink nicely for at least a decade.
