  1. Amiral de Beychevelle Saint-Julien

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#95762

    JD9393 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 3/11/2021
A rock star of a second wine already offering pleasure, the 2018 Amiral De Beychevelle checks in as 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc that comes from the younger vines of the estate and slightly more sandy soils. This makes for a more up-front, fruit-driven wine that reveals a deep purple hue as well as sumptuous array of blueberries, black cherries, lead pencil shavings, tobacco, and spring flowers. It’s classic Bordeaux on the nose, yet has a wonderful sweetness of fruit, ripe, polished tannins, no hard edges, and just a balanced, seamless style that’s ideal for enjoying over the coming 10–15 years. Dark fruit with cedar and herbal notes on the nose. Some meat, too. It’s full-bodied with firm tannins. Juicy and savory character on the palate with a balanced structure. Flavorful finish. Second wine. Try after 2023 when it will be more together.

  2. Casa Castillo El Molar

    2020 / 750 ml. | Item#91201

    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Apr 2022
The perfect Mediterranean vintage produced an outstanding Garnacha. The 2020 El Molar fermented with 35% full clusters and matured in a combination of 500-liter barrels and 5,000-liter foudres for one year. The wine is very young and tender; it feels more delicate despite having a little more alcohol than the 2019 (it’s 15%) and with a slightly lower pH (3.49). It’s super aromatic, extroverted and expressive, floral, elegant and complex. There is great balance, and the wine feels fresher and less ripe; it’s refreshing and has a core of minerality and super fine tannins with pungent flavors. There is precision, elegance and balance, the three words that define the vintage. All the wines are very good value, but this is a steal. 40,000 bottles were filled in March 2022. (Luis Gutiérrez)

  3. Mas Alta Cirerets

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#96234

    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Dec 2020
I just love the elegance and harmony of the 2018 Cirerets despite the 16% alcohol marked on the label. It’s a village wine from La Vilella Alta produced with 60% old Cariñena planted in 1962 (La Veana) and 40% young Garnacha planted in 2002 (Cirerets). It is powerful yet elegant and harmonious with a soft texture, sleek tannins and very pure and penetrating flavors. Really delicious and hedonistic. This is certified organic and biodynamic since 2016. 16,000 bottles. It was bottled in July 2020 and is already very harmonious and has the stuffing and balance for a good development in bottle.

  4. Tardieu-Laurent Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Spéciale

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#97981

    SP9696 pts. - Wine Spectator - Feb 28, 2022
Dark and a bit reticent still, showing a very deep well of dark plum, boysenberry and blackberry puree flavors scored by roasted apple wood and licorice root notes. Features serious drive on the finish, with a tannic spine that easily shoulders the load of fruit, while a subtle mineral note peeks through. This is built for the cellar. Grenache and Mourvèdre. Best from 2024 through 2038. 500 cases made, 50 cases imported. (James Molesworth)
    JD95+95–97 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 12/14/2020
The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Spéciale is similarly deep purple hued and has a ripe, sexy style that’s very much in the vintage. Loads of black raspberries, Asian spices, candied flowers, and peppery garrigue give way to a full-bodied, concentrated, powerful wine with terrific balance, plenty of ripe and polished tannins, and a great finish. It’s a ripe, opulent wine that stays graceful and beautifully balanced. My money is on it benefiting from 4–5 years of bottle age, and it should have two decades of longevity. (Jeb Dunnuck)

    JD95+95–97 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 12/14/2020
Also pure Southern Rhône goodness, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vieilles Vignes has classy notes of red and blue fruits, candied orange, flowers, peppery garrigue, and loads of Asian spices. Beautifully textured, silky, and elegant on the palate, it has wonderful tannins, a notable sense of freshness, and a great, great finish. (Jeb Dunnuck)

  6. Far Mountain Fission Cabernet Sauvignon

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#96373

    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2021
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Fission emerges from Alta Vista, on Moon Mountain. A dark, potent wine, the 2019 captures plenty of mountain energy in its savory, earthy flavor profile. Dark cherry, mocha, spice, new leather, licorice and chocolate all flesh out. My impression is that less new oak and longer élevage might bring out even more character. This is certainly an impressive debut from Mai Errazuriz and Rodrigo Soto.
    JS9393 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Friday, March 5, 2021
This is a balanced red, showing blackberry and bark with chili and some herbs. It’s medium-to full-bodied with nice drinkability and a succulent, flavorful finish. Iodine, pine needles, slate and graphite undertones. Subtle. Vineyards from the early 1970s. This is from Moon Mountain. Drink after 2022. 1,500 cases made.
    SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Sep 30, 2021
Delivers a vivid stream of violet and plum notes set against a silky frame, backed by anise and sweet spice accents on the finish. Very fan-friendly. Drink now through 2023. 1,500 cases made.
