    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#91247

Blended of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller portions of Petit Sirah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, the 2015 Tarot Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep garnet-purple color and exuberant nose of warm plums, crushed cherries and crème de cassis with touches of Indian spices, fragrant earth and violets with a waft of lavender. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, it fills the palate with black berry and earthy layers, finishing with the lovely velvety texture paving the way.
    JD9191 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - December 29, 2017
The 2015 Tarot Cabernet Sauvignon offers more black cherry, spice and hints of toast, as well as medium to full-bodied richness and a tighter, more focused, concentrated style. It’s terrific now but should evolve gracefully.

    JS9494 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Monday, August 24, 2020
Lots of walnut, chocolate, currant and thyme character to this with some wet earth and forest fruit. Vibrant nose. It’s full-bodied with lots of fruit and ripe tannins. Flavorful finish. Solid red. Drink or hold.
    JD92+92–94+ pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - January 31, 2020
Lastly, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve comes is a selection put together by Biagi and comes from a mix of the single vineyards. A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, all still aging in new barrels, it offers a plush, forward, full-bodied style that carries classic notes of jammy blackberry and cassis intermixed with lots of spice, chocolate, and a touch of graphite. This pleasure bent beauty will drink nicely for 10–15 years.
    VN91+91–94 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2020
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is powerful and dense with a real sense of classicism that runs through it. Gravel, licorice, black cherry, cloves and leather all race out of the glass in a positively stunning, inviting Cabernet that hits so many high notes. There is something truly magical about the 2018. Given its quality and price, the Reserve is unquestionably the wine in this range readers should focus on first.

  5. Kapcsándy Family Winery Estate Cuvée

    State Lane Vineyard
    2012 / 750 ml. | Item#86972

    RP9696 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Oct 2015
The 2012 Estate Cuvee State Lane Vineyard, which is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot aged in a combination of mostly new French oak, but some Hungarian oak as well, represents 1,190 cases, or 50% of the production from their estate vineyard. This wine shows beautiful floral notes along with hints of earth, chocolate, espresso, licorice and blackcurrants. It is elegant, medium to full-bodied, with impressive purity, texture and length. The wine shows relatively sweet tannin, but then so do most of the top 2012s. It should drink nicely for 15–20 more years.
    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2015
A dark, powerful wine, the 2012 Estate Cuvée possesses gorgeous depth and textural richness. Open and large on the palate, the 2012 delivers plenty of pleasure today. Next to the best wines from the estate, the 2012 Estate Cuvée lacks a touch of freshness — especially in its aromatics — but it is incredibly appealing today. My sense is that the 2012 is going through a period of dullness, as the bouquet is not as expressive as it has been in the past. A closing note of rose petal and mint adds the final layer of nuance. The blend is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot.
    JS9494 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Wednesday, May 4, 2016
Lots of ripe fruit on the nose with blackberry, blueberry, hints of walnut and wet earth. Iodine too. Full body, yet fresh and lively. Pretty refined tannins and a delicious finish.
    SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 15, 2015
Pure and focused on a dense core of extracted currant, crushed rock, espresso, plum and wild berry. The tannins are firm and gripping but also ripe, giving this a long, tapered finish. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best from 2018 through 2030. 800 cases made.

  6. Quilceda Creek CVR

    2017 / 750 ml. | Item#92793

    JD9595 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - April 15, 2020
The 2017 Columbia Valley CVR is smoking stuff. Based on 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc sourced from the Champoux, Galitzine, Palengat, and Wallula Vineyards, it has loads of cassis, toasted spice, graphite, and dried tobacco notes as well as full-bodied richness, a broad, expansive mouthfeel, and sweet tannins. It’s not far off the top releases here, and it remains a stunning value in world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink it any time over the coming 15 years or more.
    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 22nd Oct 2020
A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc, the 2017 CVR Columbia Valley Red Wine jumps out of the glass with aromas of dusty red cherry skin, luscious baking spice, dark plum and cassis. Full-bodied, the wine still has the same attention to detail as its bigger brothers in the range, just at a keener price. In the mouth, the CVR offers up structured tannins with energetic acidity, subtle spice with red and black berry tones. The wine concludes with a delightful and lingering finish. Just under 7,000 cases produced.
    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2020
Bright red-ruby. Expressive aromas of blackcurrant, dark raspberry, blueberry, licorice, menthol, cedar and tobacco leaf. Juicy, fine-grained and quite firm on the palate, showing a bitter chocolate quality to its sweet, plush dark berry and fresh herb flavors. Wonderfully harmonious for a second wine, as there are no obvious signs of overripe fruit. Finishes dense, firm and suave, with a smooth dusting of building tannins and excellent chocolatey length. Drink now or hold.

  7. Snowden Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#92290

    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2018
Snowden’s 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch is gorgeous. Dark, powerful and beautifully structured, the 2016 Ranch is a huge overachiever. In 2016, the Ranch is a wine of real power, gravitas and character. Black cherry, plum, lavender and savory herbs all develop in the glass, but it is the wine’s persistence and overall balance that stands out in this deeply flavorful, classically built Cabernet from Snowden. Best of all, the 2016 is a superb wine for the money.
    JS9292 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Friday, May 3, 2019
Elderberries, blueberries, blackberries and hints of hazelnuts and walnuts. Medium to full body, focused acidity and a medium-chewy finish. Drink in 2022.
    SP9191 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2019
This is a fresh, sleek style, with a racy beam of black currant and blackberry fruit flavors inlaid with subtle dark tobacco and singed alder notes. A bit youthfully tight but this should unwind soon enough in the cellar. Best from 2020 through 2028. 1,091 cases made.

  8. Nickel & Nickel State Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#94152

    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Nov 2020
Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon State Ranch was aged for 18 months in French oak, 50% new. Deep garnet-purple in color, the nose is redolent of chocolate-covered cherries, blackberry preserves and black currant jelly with touches of wild sage, cast iron pan and cardamom with a waft of cumin seed. Full-bodied, the palate bursts with crunchy black fruit and loads of spicy accents, supported by firm grainy tannins and tons of freshness, finishing long and lively.
    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2021
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon State Ranch is soft, open-knit and wonderfully inviting. Silky tannins wrap around a core of red-toned fruit. Sweet cherry, cedar, pipe tobacco and mocha are all laced together. The State Ranch is not quite as deep or powerful as some of the other wines in the range, but on the plus side, it will drink well with only minimal cellaring.
    WE9393 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 3/1/2021
This thickly concentrated wine is brimming in leather and dried herb tones. Black fruit dominates and broods along the rounded, velvety palate, offering luxury and complexity in equal measure.
    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Dec 31, 2020
This is well-built, with cassis, crushed plum and blackberry fruit flavors that stretch out slowly and surely, inlaid with graphite, sweet tobacco and violet accents throughout. Ample tarry grip on the back end will need some cellaring to unwind. Best from 2022 through 2032. 4,881 cases made.

  9. Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#94075

    WE9595 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 3/1/2021
This memorable Cabernet Sauvignon has small amounts of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec blended in. Aged 17 months in a majority of new French oak, it unfurls flavors of red fruit, dried herb and clove over a core of youthful tannin and spicy oak. Best from 2028–2038.
    JD9595 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - January 27, 2021
Including small amounts of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon sports a deep purple color as well as classic Cabernet notes of blackcurrants, new leather, tobacco leaf, flowers, and lead pencil. Beautifully done on the palate and made in a seamless, elegant style, it has a kiss of Pauillac in its nicely integrated acidity, ripe, building tannins, a touch of earthiness, and a great finish. It’s not a blockbuster, just seamless and elegant, with a thrilling character. It should keep for 20+ years.
    RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Nov 2020
Composed of 93.3% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3.8% Petit Verdot, 2.3% Cabernet Franc, 0.5% Merlot and 0.1% Malbec, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley was aged for 17 months in French oak, 65% new. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it rolls effortlessly out of the glass with notes of stewed plums, warm cassis and black raspberries with touches of pencil shavings, dried Provence herbs and tilled soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a real skip in its step, featuring bright, crunchy black and red fruits and a soft texture, finishing lively.
    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2021
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Bottled from Far Niente is a gorgeous wine. Bold and juicy, with soft, plush tannins, the 2018 is a wonderfully seductive Cabernet that will drink well right out of the gate. Succulent dark cherry, plum, espresso, chocolate and spice flesh out over time. This racy, easygoing Cabernet is full of charm.
    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Dec 31, 2020
This has good energy, with a brambly spine driving plum and black currant fruit along while a solid bolt of iron runs underneath. Savory and bay accents hang in the background throughout. Best from 2021 through 2031. 19,535 cases made.
    WS9191 pts. - Wine & Spirits - December 1, 2020
A sleek cabernet, this blends Far Niente’s Oakville fruit with grapes from Rutherford, St. Helena and Calistoga. The wine developed its velvety texture over the course of 17 months in French oak barrels (65 percent new), and there’s a quiet back-and-forth between the oak and the fruit that keeps it dynamic. Decant it for charcuterie.
