  1. Colle Bereto Chianti Classico

    2017 / 750 ml. | Item#94038

    SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 15, 2020
Aromas of blood, iron and raw beef lead off, followed by flavors of cherry, plum and leather. Rich and harmonious, with a dense underlying structure and terrific length. Approachable now, but this should evolve well over the next few decades. Drink now through 2040. 3,500 cases made, 2,800 cases imported.
    JS9191 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, November 7, 2019
Lots of dried peppers here, as well as earth, dried plums and spices. Firm and tangy on the medium-bodied palate, but quite succulent on the finish. Lemon-zest aftertaste. Drink now.

The 2019 Chianti Classico is an attractive, mid-weight wine. Silky and beautifully perfumed, this mid-weight Chianti Classico is a terrific example of the lithe style that is so typical of Radda. Crushed flowers, mint, sweet red berries and tobacco linger. (Antonio Galloni)
    SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 31, 2021

Made with organically farmed grapes—90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo and 5% Colorino—this opens with aromas of black-skinned berry, underbrush and leather. The fragrant, balanced palate offers black cherry, clove and licorice alongside firm, polished tannins. Drink 2023–2030. (Kerin O’Keefe)
    JS9191 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, November 4, 2021
A well-defined and typical Chianti Rufina with aromas and flavors of berries and cherries, as well as darker, savory notes of bark and dried herbs. Medium body and grainy tannins that have a dusty-oak coating that absorbs the fruit flavors nicely and gives a long, firm and a slightly bitter, licoricy finish. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but will be better integrated in 2023.

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#97887

    SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2022
A harmonious red, offering an expression of cherry, blackberry and floral aromas and flavors offset by a vibrant, well-integrated structure. Shows iron, tobacco, smoke and a hint of wild herbs, which weigh in as this evolves on the palate toward a lingering aftertaste. Delivers finesse and energy. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best from 2024 through 2038. 5,000 cases imported. (Bruce Sanderson)
    JS9494 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Wednesday, June 15, 2022
Beautiful aromas of roses and other flowers, together with cherries and orange peel. Medium-bodied with ultra-fine tannins that spread across the palate. Bright and long. Succulent and fine. Drink now.
    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2022
The 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva Marchese Antinori is rich, layered and exceptionally polished. This is an especially serious vintage for the Marchese Antinori. All of the fruit comes from the Antinori family’s Tignanello estate. Silky tannins wrap around a core of dark red cherry/plum, spice, leather and tobacco. There’s tremendous weight, power and depth, that much is pretty clear. (Antonio Galloni)
    WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 5/1/2022
This has enticing aromas recalling ripe plum, fragrant blue flower and oak-driven spice. On the smooth, savory palate, supple, fine-grained tannins accompany juicy Marasca cherry, cassis, vanilla and star anise. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced. Drink 2024–2031.

  9. Tenuta di Capraia Chianti Classico Riserva

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#98310

    VN9696 pts. - Vinous - Sep 2020
The 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva will thrill Sangiovese lovers. Ample and expressive in the glass, with tremendous nuance, the Riserva is simply exceptional in 2016. Black cherry, plum, leather, tobacco, incense, menthol and licorice bring out the darker side of Sangiovese. I would give the tannins a few years to soften. The 2016 is very clearly a special wine in the making. (Antonio Galloni)
    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 15th Apr 2021
The Tenuta di Capraia 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva Capraia is tightly packed with cherry fruit, raspberry and cassis. The wine’s primary aromas are lifted and bright, and the wine moves over the palate efficiently with fresh, mid-weight appeal. It serves to refresh and revive your palate during a course of Sardinian capra al profumo di alloro, or roasted goat with laurel essence. (Monica Larner)
    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Mar 31, 2021
A harmonious texture and profile sets the stage for this red’s focused cherry, currant and floral notes. Mineral and tobacco accents sneak in as this plays out on the long finish. Shows excellent structure too. Drink now through 2040. 1,000 cases made, 500 cases imported. (Bruce Sanderson)
    JS9191 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, November 7, 2019
Aromas and flavors of blue fruit, wet earth and hints of slate, following through to a medium to full body and chewy tannins. Needs to soften a little. Better after 2021.
    WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 3/1/2021
Made entirely from Sangiovese, this opens with aromas of violet, tilled soil and dark-skinned berries. The savory palate offers blackberry, tobacco and black pepper alongside polished tannins and firm acidity. Enjoy through 2027. (Kerin O’Keefe)

  10. Fèlsina Berardenga Chianti Classico

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#87117

    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Sep 2020
The 2018 Chianti Classico Berardenga is endowed with so much class. In 2018, the Classico is a bit more restrained than it can be. That mid-weight sense of structure, though, gives the wine quite a bit of early appeal. Even so, I would cellar the 2018 for a few years, as all the elements haven’t fully come together just yet. Dark cherry, game, smoke, licorice and earthy notes are a reminder we are in Castelnuovo Berardenga, even if the 2018 has less weight and overt power than Fèlsina fans are used to seeing.
    RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 6th Aug 2020
The Fèlsina 2018 Chianti Classico Berardenga is a toned and delicate expression of 100% Sangiovese from a vintage that produced beautifully subtle and understated wines. It shows good momentum driven by dark fruit, blackberry and summer cherry. The intensity of these aromas is downplayed and rendered less pronounced, adding elegance and fragility. Pretty background notes of spice and balsam herb add an extra layer of complexity. An ample 280,000 bottles were produced.

  11. Poggerino Chianti Classico

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#88941

    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Sep 30, 2018
Though shy in aroma, this offers a beam of pure cherry flavor. Earth, leather, mineral and tobacco accents add depth. Harmonious, if youthful, with fine energy on the finish. Best from 2020 through 2028. 4,000 cases made.
    RP90+90+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Oct 2017
The 2015 Chianti Classico is plump and ripe. It carries a full bouquet of exuberant fruit aromas with Morello cherry, blackberry and red rose. The wine is compact and complete. It offers good intensity and a high pleasure threshold. It is also naturally informal in approach, and that’s what makes it so easy to pair with your favorite Italian foods. If you are nostalgic for classic Sangiovese, this is your wine. Some 48,000 bottles were produced.

  12. Fèlsina Rància Chianti Classico Riserva

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#96589

    VN9797 pts. - Vinous - Sep 2021
The 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia is an absolutely stunning wine. The archetype of Rancia in the past has been of a big, potent Chianti Classico but in 2018, Rancia is a wine of mind-blowing elegance and finesse. Silky, perfumed and indescribably finessed, the 2018 dazzles from start to finish. It’s a magical wine in every way.
    RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 7th Oct 2021
The 2018 is an unusual vintage that shows an especially austere character. Off the bat, it must be said that the Fèlsina 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia would certainly benefit from more cellar time and a long drinking window. The Rancia is elegant and streamlined with a medium-bodied style that breaks from some of the more concentrated vintages we’ve seen in the past. The bouquet reveals a lot of dark or black character with blackcurrant, tar, resin, iron ore and a dusty hint of dry graham cracker (which reminds us of the vintage heat). Structurally, the wine offers a solid and firm footing, but it would benefit from further evolution.
    JS9595 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Wednesday, August 11, 2021
This is really subtle and complex with cherry, herb, floral and sage aromas that follow through to a full body with firm, fine tannins that give form and energy to the wine. Racy and very fine. Drink or hold.
