From the Producer

The Spur 2019 is crafted from blending the classic Bordeaux varietals with Petite Sirah, which offers a distinctively California expression. Each varietal is farmed, harvested, and handcrafted individually to achieve their greatest expression prior to assembling the final blend. The 2019 vintage provides an aromatic profile of black cherry, spiced cranberry and subtle oak with complementary notes of graham cracker and clove. The dark fruit aromas carry through to the palate which is framed by fine tannins, and a rich, lasting, and elegant mouthfeel. Enjoy through 2027.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a sumptuous, heady wine. It possesses tremendous richness and pure power from the outset. Inky dark fruit, mocha, espresso, leather and licorice infuse the 2019 with notable character. This deep, potent Cabernet delivers the goods, big time. (Antonio Galloni)
RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Oct 2021
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec. Deep garnet-purple in color, it charges out of the gate with bold blackcurrant and blackberry preserves scents, plus hints of tilled soil, truffles and unsmoked cigars. The full-on opulent, rich, velvety palate is decadently laden with black fruit preserves and earthy accents, finishing long with a lively lift. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)

Ripe and focused, with an alluring mix of sassafras and chaparral hints dotting a core of steeped black currant and blackberry fruit. Shows a nice loamy tug through the finish, too. Drink now through 2034. 7,670 cases made. (James Molesworth)

Sturdy and flavorful, a good structure supports ample black cherry and blackberry flavors in this moderately tannic and full- bodied wine. It tastes deep and ripe, with light oak spice accents.

Luscious and ripe black fruits ride an effortless texture in this seamless and well-balanced wine. Minutely grained tannins weave through dark plums, spearmint, cocoa and black cherries. While enticing and drinkable, the wine should have a long, more complex life ahead. Best from 2027–2040. (Jim Gordon)

Aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, roasted walnuts, vanilla and licorice with some earthy character. Fresh and juicy on the palate with a full body and polished tannins. Long finish with an array of ripe-berry flavors. Drink or hold. (James Suckling)

Black fruit, spiced plums, licorice, black olives, earth and sweet spices on the nose. It’s full-bodied with firm, chewy tannins. Structured and tannic with a rich core of black fruit on the mid-palate and a firm finish. Try in 2024.
JD9090 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 2/16/2023
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a pretty, balanced, medium-bodied effort that brings plenty of ripe California fruit as well as sappy green herbs, violets, and floral notes. It has lots of varietal character, fine tannins, and outstanding balance. Drink bottles over the coming 10–12 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic Pride wire. Effusive aromatics meld into a core of dark blue/purplish fruit. Medium in body, but with terrific depth, 2019 has a lot going on. This is an especially refined vintage for the Cabernet Sauvignon. All the elements are so nicely balanced. Cedar, tobacco, licorice and dried herbs linger. (Antonio Galloni)
JD9191 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 2/16/2023
I loved the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, a classic, impeccably made Cabernet offering plenty of darker blue, plummy fruits, some classic Cabernet herbal and cedary nuances, medium body, soft tannins, and a great finish. Drink bottles any time over the coming 10–12 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)

The base 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is terrific, and while I don’t know the price, I suspect it’s a great value. Deep purple-hued, with terrific mulled currant and blackberry fruits, it has lots of ripe herbal, chocolaty spice notes, full-bodied richness, sweet tannins, and a great finish. This is pure Napa Valley goodness to drink over the coming 10–15 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)
RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 15th Sep 2022
Notes of black cherries and cassis combine with cedar and vanilla on the nose of the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine that’s almost equal parts Howell Mountain, Mt. Veeder and Oakville. It’s medium to full-bodied, reasonably concentrated and already accessible, with plush tannins and a lingering finish. (Joe Czerwinski)
VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is a soft, easygoing wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. Succulent red cherry, plum, mocha, new leather and spice are nicely pushed forward, with floral notes that build in the glass. The Napa Valley Cabernet is a blend of fruit of estate vineyards in Oakville, Howell Mountain and Mount Veeder. (Antonio Galloni)
