WE8989 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 10/1/2020
With a good balance between Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, this blend is poised and stylish. Juicy black fruits have structure and some aging potential from tannins in the background. Drink this wine from 2021. (Roger Voss)

Cherry and cassis notes take the lead here, with hints of singed cedar and a tug of warm earth on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Drink now. 23,000 cases made, 1,500 cases imported. (James Molesworth)

The wine’s fulsome black fruits are packed with tannins and a spicy, smoky character. This is a solid wine, with a good future. Drink from 2025. (Roger Voss)

Château Poitevin Médoc

Cru Bourgeois Supérieur
2019 / 750 ml.

VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2022
The 2019 Poitevin has a perfumed, floral bouquet with more red fruit than I observed from barrel, showing fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, very cohesive and harmonious. There’s just a touch of graphite on the finish. Stylish, top-notch Poitevin. (Neal Martin)
RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Oct 2022
The 2019 Poitevin is performing better than it did when I tasted it earlier this year, when I suspect it was still shut down after bottling. Opening in the glass with attractive aromas of orange zest, sweet red berries, petals and spices, it’s medium-bodied, lively and elegant, with lovely purity of fruit and nicely integrated structure. (William Kelley)

Ripe blackberries, crushed raspberries, dried thyme and mocha on the nose. Medium body with lightly chewy tannins. Firm and compact with savory tea-leaf character. Drink from 2023.

A black-currant aroma leads to a ripe and fruity wine. Light tannins and acidity complement the juicy texture. Drink the wine from 2025. (Roger Voss)

The Best Bordeaux Wine Selection Online

Red Bordeaux wine is almost always blended, with two major grapes (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot) making up the bulk of the wine, and potentially small quantities of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot and/or Carmenere can be added. White wine from Bordeaux will also be blended, predominantly with Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.

The blend and style will vary depending from which Bordeaux wine region the grapes are sourced, with softer Merlot-driven reds coming out of the Right Bank, more muscular Cab-driven reds from the Left Bank and the best crisp whites from between the two rivers.
