Marlborough is famous for producing some of New Zealand's crisp and zesty Sauvignon Blancs, while Central Otago is home to some terrific Pinot Noirs. You'll also find great wines in the other regions: Canterbury, Nelson, and Waipara Valley.

Sauvignon Blanc is New Zealand’s crown jewel, and thus, the most exported wine. The ferocious acidity and stark notes of grapefruit, gooseberry, and cut grass lead to an unforgettable wine drinking experience.

Other grapes of note in New Zealand include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Riesling. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are also being grown for Bordeaux-style blends in the Hawke’s Bay region as well.
