Item#: 71623
Anything but dramatic, this is an elegantly structured and sophisticated Julienas with gentle tannins and a silky texture that’s accentuated by the pronounced wet-stone character at the long finish, where there’s a delicate raspberry note. Drink or hold.
This ripe, juicy wine offers full blueberry fruits. It has a light structure, aiming more for generous fruits and balanced acidity. Drink now. (Roger Voss)

Why Can't We Ship This Item?
Either the bottle is too large for our packaging (i.e. we cannot ship anything larger than 750 ml), the dimensions/shape of the bottle doesn't fit within our packaging for safe shipment, or this is a widely-distributed wine (e.g. Barefoot, Yellow Tail, etc) which we only sell at our physical store or for in-store pickup.

Technically, Beaujolais is part of France's Burgundy wine region. However, because the grapes used in Beaujolais and styles produced differ so dramatically from the rest of Burgundy, most in the wine business consider them as separate regions. Gamay is Beajolais's primary grape, and it produces wines that are best consumed in the same year they are produced. The most famous style is Beaujolais Nouveau, which often arrives in the US near Thanksgiving time and represents the first wines of the year's harvest.
Region / Burgundy
In eastern France lies the region of Burgundy, one of the legendary wine regions of the world. Burgundy, home to some of the most expensive wines in the world, is famous for its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. With very few exceptions, red Burgundy is made from 100% Pinot Noir. And the reigning white of Burgundy, Chardonnay, can vary incredibly in style depending on where it was produced within the region.
Country / France
The French did not invent winemaking. They simply perfected it. For centuries, France has been producing wines that inspire poetry, awe, and wonder; wines that blur the lines between nature, craftsmanship, cuisine and art. These are the wines that inspired cultures around the globe to follow in France’s footsteps, planting Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Grenache, Merlot, Semillon and more.
Yet as often as they are emulated, the magic of their terroirs can never be duplicated. You may taste Cabernet from around the world, but perhaps none as elegant and regal as Bordeaux. You may try Pinot Noir or Chardonnay from various climates, but none with the earth-bound soul and ethereal reach of Burgundy.

The wine has structure and richness. Together, they give density, ripe tannins and a juicy black-cherry quality to this fine wine. While the wine is young, it has swathes of fruit and structure. It is rich and ready to drink from 2023. (Roger Voss)

Lots of ripe red fruit on the nose, from baked plum to chocolate cherry here. Spicy, too, with licorice and nutmeg coming through. Medium- to full-bodied, concentrated and structured, with bright acidity and fresh minerality matching the ripe fruit. Drink now. (James Suckling)
Generous and inviting, with plum, black cherry and red currant layered with black tea, wet earth and smoked incense. Warm spice notes add richness to the palate, which is streaked with violet and singed graphite, all reined in by slightly chewy tannins and tangy acidity. Drink now through 2027. 7,500 cases made, 1,500 cases imported. (Kristen Bieler)

This has strawberry and black-raspberry aromas that leap leap out of the glass at you, and behind all this effusion is some good structure, plus harmonious acidity. Where is the checked table cloth and the charcuterie? Drink now.

The bright fruit and juiciness of this elegant, medium-bodied Chiroubles is immediately appealing. A touch of soft tannin and harmonious acidity on the palate confirm that. Slightly simple finish, but very enjoyable. Drink now.
A blend from across the appellation, this wine, aged in tank for six months, has juicy red fruits and a light tannic structure. It conveys freshness, as befits a wine from the highest of the cru villages. Drink from late 2022. (Roger Voss)

Cuvée Les Vieux Granits
2020 / 750 ml.
The estate, owned by the Duboeuf family but run separately, has produced this full, dense and jammy wine. Ripe tannins and berry flavors show an attractive balance. Drink the wine from 2023.
This has been well made, but for us the super-ripe black cherries and heady alcohol (14.5%) are a bit much. The generous palate is reasonably well balanced and you could certainly drink it with a steak or roast vegetables. Drink now.
