From the Producer

The 2015 Confession Red Wine is dark, dense and immediately intriguing in the glass. You are greeted by blue and black fruits, a dusty, herbaceous quality and a hint of ginger-molasses cookie on the nose. The well integrated new French Oak is nicely balanced with fruit, and it supports the richness of the wine, while framing and balancing the dense palate. This mouth-coating, juicy blend entices with notes of dried mission fig, star anise, and blackberry.

Critical Acclaim

JD92 Jeb Dunnuck December 29, 2017

"Like the Tarot releases, the 2015 Confession Napa Valley Red is charming, balanced and pretty, with hints of black cherries, black raspberries, violets, vanilla and incense. It has plenty of dark fruit, lots of juicy fruit, fine tannin, and a great finish." (92 pts.)

JS91 JamesSuckling.com Thursday, December 21, 2017

"Plum and berry with some spice and fruit tea undertones. Full body, round and soft tannins yet a linear edge at the end. Drink or hold." (91 pts.)

RP91 Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate 31st Oct 2017

"Composed of 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot with smaller parts of Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, the 2015 Confession Napa Valley Red has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and is scented of cassis, kirsch and baked raspberries with plenty of baking spice, incense and cigar box notions in the background, with an herbal waft. Medium to full-bodied, it has a very pretty floral perfume boosting the fruit with a chewy texture and nice savory finish." (91 pts.)

Napa Valley

Napa Valley is California's -- and America's -- most famous and celebrated wine district. Located north of San Francisco, Napa Valley is most famous for its world-class Cabernets and Chardonnays. The region's acclaim officially took off following a 1976 tasting in Paris when renowned judges chose a Napa Chardonnay and Cabernet over top French wines made from the same grapes.

Most wineries in the region produce either a Chardonnay or a Cabernet, and usually it's both. Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel are also grown with success in Napa Valley. You'll likely recognize the names of some of the viticultural areas within Napa Valley, including St. Helena, Stag's Leap and Carneros.

California

When it comes to US wine production, California is King. California wines account for almost 90% of all wines produced in the United States each year, and is home to the most celebrated vineyards and producers in the country. California is probably best known for its world-famous Cabernets and Chardonnays, many of which hail from its two most-acclaimed AVAs, Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Other prominent grapes used in California wines include Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfandel (which California made popular).
