Why Can't We Ship This Item?
Either the bottle is too large for our packaging (i.e. we cannot ship anything larger than 750 ml), the dimensions/shape of the bottle doesn't fit within our packaging for safe shipment, or this is a widely-distributed wine (e.g. Barefoot, Yellow Tail, etc) which we only sell at our physical store or for in-store pickup.

When it comes to US wine production, California is King. California wines account for almost 90% of all wines produced in the United States each year, and is home to the most celebrated vineyards and producers in the country. California is probably best known for its world-famous Cabernets and Chardonnays, many of which hail from its two most-acclaimed AVAs, Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Other prominent grapes used in California wines include Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfandel (which California made popular).

This reserve steps up in terms of ripeness and depth with dark-cherry, blackcurrant and violet aromas, leading to a smooth yet powerful palate that delivers plenty of rich, dark-berry flavor. Polished tannins and astute oak deployment. Drink or hold.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley Reserve is laced with black cherry, plum, gravel, lavender and dark spice notes. Powerful and broad, but with a bit more softness than the straight Knights Valley Cabernet, the Reserve is another winner in this range from Beringer.
Ripened to dark fig flavors, this smoky wine has the brisk mineral tannins of cabernet grown in volcanic soils. The flavors are further darkened by new oak, though they retain enough freshness to suggest the wine will benefit from a few years of bottle age to reveal its complexities.

Golden apple, yellow plums, and a touch of banana peel followed by chamomile tea leaves, hawthorn, browned toast and seductive sweet baking spices. Medium- to full-bodied and creamy textured with soft acidity that beautifully balances out the wine. Very precisely framed with underlying herb and mineral layers. Aged for 11 months in 60% new French oak. Predominantly from the vineyards in Oakville. Drink or hold. (James Suckling)
A lovely note of smoked butterscotch introduces aromatic accents of honeysuckle and orange oil, with crisp Meyer lemon, yuzu and pear flavors, plus a candied ginger grace note. A buttered brioche detail lingers in the background. Drink now. 8,800 cases made. (MaryAnn Worobiec)

2021 / 750 ml.
This has a more reductive and flinty personality with sliced pears, apples, lemons and light cream. White flowers, too. Full-bodied and very agile on the palate, staying calm until the end when it kicks in and runs long. Toasty finish with acid and phenolic structure. Old Wente clone. Goes on for minutes. A wine for aging, but so good already. Drinkable, but better in two or three years. (James Suckling)
The 2021 Chardonnay Private Reserve comes all from Oakville and is a different beast, with a richer yet still vibrant style that just begs to be drunk. Orchard fruits, chalky minerality, toasted hazelnuts, and a beautiful sense of reduction all define the aromatics, and it’s medium to full-bodied, has perfect balance, integrated oak, and a great finish. It’s the real deal. Drink bottles over the coming 7–8 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)
From the Gamble Ranch in Oakville and barrel fermented at relatively warm temperatures to build mouthfeel, the 2021 Chardonnay Private Reserve boasts a smoky, mocha-tinged note on the nose, plus hints of crème brûlée and pineapple custard. It’s medium to full-bodied, velvety and ripe, a bit open-knit texturally on the finish, but it’s authoritatively flavored and true to form. About 80% new French oak is used, but a healthy 20% of the barrels are larger puncheons (500 liters), so while oaky, it’s not unbalanced. (Joe Czerwinski)
This has a spicy, smoky litsea oil note and honeycomb overtone to the plump grilled peach, ripe melon and dried apricot flavors, which add an appealing fleshy accent, while a hint of buttery pie crust lingers. Drink now through 2030. 4,135 cases made. (MaryAnn Worobiec)

Baked-blueberry, spiced-cherry, praline and vanilla aromas. Some gravel and pine undertones. It’s full-bodied with firm, tight tannins. Creamy and supple with seamless fruit and hazelnut layers. Sleek and polished tannins. Try from 2022.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley Reserve is a beauty and is all Cabernet brought up in 51% new French oak, which is on the lower end for this estate. Its deep purple color is followed by a classic, nicely structured Knights Valley Cabernet with lots of savory red and black fruits, loamy earth, tobacco leaf, and spice-driven aromas and flavors. With beautiful richness and mid-palate depth, ripe yet present tannins, and outstanding length, it’s going to drink nicely for 10–15 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley Reserve is super expressive right out of the gate, which is unusual for a young Knights Valley wine. Crème de cassis, gravel, sage, menthol and licorice give the 2018 much of its dark, somber personality. The winemaking team has really pulled back on the extraction than in the past. The purity of the fruit is striking.
