Look for a gorgeous copper hue with orange highlights, a butterscotch-like aroma and soft feel. This Bourbon offers lots of fruit on the palate — orange, apricot, tropical fruit — that finish long, with caramel and a bracing burnt-orange peel note.

The first sniffs detect restrained, lightly roasted kernel/bean-like scents; bouquet opens up as aromas of saddle leather, tobacco leaf and walnut come to the fore. Palate entry is semisweet, candied and creamy; by midpalate, the taste includes pepper, welcome spirity heat, oak resin and caramel corn. Ends showing the delicate side of Bourbon.

An intense vanilla-caramel nose also bears a rich backdrop of old leather. The body is huge and almost chewy, and the palate offers toffee notes, a touch of butterscotch and, just like the nose, notes of rich leather with a hint of tobacco thrown in for good measure. The finish is very long and smooth.

Woodford is a drier, leaner style of Bourbon, its flavors leathery and masculine. It makes a terrific Manhattan, perhaps the best of all of these.

A premium Bourbon aged in hand selected barrels and produced from the famous limestone water of the Bluegrass region. The result is a finely crafted Whiskey that consists of sweet citrus aromatics, and complex flavors of vanilla, cinnamon and smoke that finish with a mellowing sensation.
