Ocaso Gran Reserva Malbec

This wine is about as good as it gets for a superb Malbec! Starting off you see its deep purple color, then one gets a whiff of ripe black raspberries and cinnamon spice. When I first tasted the wine it was a bit closed, but after it had been open for some time the flavors really blossomed. Rich and deep; I was impressed by the essences of ripe boysenberry, loganberry and black cherries. The wine is beautifully balanced, full-bodied and dense, with velvety tannins and a touch of spiciness on the long-lasting finish. If you drink this now I would recommend decanting, but this can easily be cellared for five years or more.

Big, bold and powerful. The dark berry fruit is pronounced and plentiful, framed around persistent notes of mocha, espresso, leather and cedar. Savor it with a grilled ribeye steak, sweet Italian sausages with peppers and onions in a tomato-based sauce, or leg of lamb complete with mint jelly.
