This medium-amber whiskey bears a sweet honeyed nose with a nicely balanced backdrop of fruits and spices. The body is medium and the palate is buttery rich, with notes of honey, berries, vanilla, and a potpourri of spices that take a backseat; the finish is long and buttery. This is a great whiskey that’s greatly underappreciated by most Bourbon lovers in America. Sip it neat or on the rocks.

Pleasant stuff which sings a fruity tune and is ably backed by subtle spice.

Deep topaz/amber color; ideal purity. Tightly knit, dry as a bone aromas of granite, wheat cracker, and fallen leaf get my attention in the initial aromatic go-rounds in the first two minutes; what develops over the next seven minutes of aeration is a testament to Buffalo Trace Distillery as the entire aromatic direction takes a left turn now offering multilayered fragrances of dried orange peel, brown sugar, and walnut. Entry is full-blown, concentrated on the sweet, spicy grains, and medium-oily; midpalate coats the palate, emitting a hearty taste profile that includes light toffee, toasted grains, and vanilla. ends clean, drier than the midpalate, and potent. Highly Recommended.

This 7 year old, 90 proof bourbon has the smoothness of a 10 year thanks to the higher percentage of wheat (vs. rye). It has nice body, good intensity, and rich flavors of fruit and spice — and it’s amazingly affordable.
