Clear. Bright, deep juniper and citrus aromas. Medium body. Crisp, assertive juniper bite, with a very smooth, oily mouth feel. Tremendous depth of flavor in the complex array of botanicals. Beautifully balanced with a zest of lemon in the long, lingering finish. World class gin, clearly designed for decadently elegant martinis.

The huge bouquet initially offers citrusy aromas that evolve to include harmonious notes of pineapple, grapefruit, allspice, pine sap and beeswax. The palate entry highlights the orange/lemon peel and the angelica components while the midpalate features more of the juniper and earthy cassia. Conclues zestily and savory.

More citrus-forward than the standard Tanqueray Dry bottling, this is gin-and-tonic perfection. The classic aroma features juniper and touches of mint, anise and coriander. The same is echoed on the palate, though it’s also bursting with grapefruit and lemon peel, finishing soft and herbaceous but perked up with a white peppercorn spark. The No. Ten also has a new art deco-inspired bottle, making it a particularly gift-worthy choice for summer party-goers.

Speaking of fancy packaging, Tanqueray No. 10 is no slouch. The bottle looks like something sent in from the future, with its tapered octagonal shape and bold silver cap. Apparently in the future they know how to make some serious gin. Distilled four times and made only with fresh, hand-picked botanicals, No. 10 is more ebullient in style than the “classic” Tanqueray, offering a raft of assertive aromatics: coriander seed, quinine, pine, juniper, the recipe for very compelling martini.

: January, 2001

Vivid aromas of juniper berry, spruce, coriander and cardamom, with lemon rind topnote. Viscous mouth-feel, with no rough edges; finishes with a hint of anise and black pepper. Absolute perfection! Drink cold and neat.

Crystalline appearance. The first sniffings are treated to a citric acid/citric peel bonanza that’s simultaneously powerful and graceful; this whopper of a bouquet evolves quickly in the glass during aeration offering singular and totally harmonious notes of pineapple, grapefruit, allspice, pine sap/Christmas tree, and beeswax. The palate entry highlights the orange/lemon peel and the angelica components while the midpalate stage features more of the juniper and earthy cassia. Concludes zestily and savory.

This gin immediately grabs your attention with its huge, captivating bouquet, perhaps the freshest of the major brands. Instead of relying on dried botanicals to derive its flavor, this innovative spirit is made using only fresh ingredients, such as ripe, hand picked grapefruits, oranges, and limes.

Gorgeously fruity, floral, citrusy, and feline. Ultimately, it’s the Christmas tree, beeswax and grapefruit aromas and the orange peel flavor that make this feline gin so special and individual. Excellent in gin cocktails. All-around great performer. One of the best “line extensions” ever created in the spirits category.

The Gist:
Instead of relying on dried botanicals for its character, Tanqueray No. Ten is crafted using only fresh ingredients such as ripe grapefruits, oranges and limes.

The Stats:
Origin: England
Strength: 94.6 proof

Think while you drink:
Tinged with fresh citrus.

An exceptionally fresh and unforgettable gin. Instead of relying of dried botanicals for its flavor, the spirit is distilled using tree-ripened grapefruits, oranges and limes; ripe juniper berries from Tuscany; and herbs such as coriander and chamomile. Tanqueray No. Ten has an immense citrus and spice bouquet and a broad array of succulent fruit flavors.

: June, 2008

Lively citrus dominates in a focused blend of botanicals that includes notes of cardamom and juniper. Very smooth and seamless from beginning to end with orange peel in the lingering finish.
