Born and raised in Buffalo, Katherine lived in Sarasota, Florida before returning home in September, 2008. Her experience with serving wine locally includes legendary restaurants such as Mulligan’s on Hertel, the Great Gatsby and The Cloister. Upon moving to Florida, Katherine became bar manager at Michael's on East; restaurant owner Michael Klauber was a pioneer in serving great wines by the glass, had a 400 bottle wine list, and was the founder of the Florida Winefest & Auction. While employed there, Katherine met and worked with hundreds of famous winemakers and chefs. She moved into the retail wine business seven years later, and eventually took a position with a local land owner who had a huge collection of investment wines. This evolved into buying wines for investment and selling them at auction at Acker Merrall & Condit in New York. Selling, serving and drinking wine has been a lifelong passion for Katherine, and her desire to expand her knowledge of wines continues to grow.
