This Spanish blend is the perfect wine to serve at a barbecue! The blend is Monastrell, Cabernet and Grenache. This combination results in a soft, but full bodied wine that has loads of black raspberry fruit along with tasty licorice and spice. This would be a great wine to serve with spicy BBQ chicken wings.

Acanto attempts to improve upon perfection by starting with 80+ year old Monastrell from the best region for that grape in Spain, and then adding 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Garnacha Tintorera (more commonly Alicante Bouschet) for structure, spiciness and deeper color. Ten months of aging in French and American cooperage results in a wine possessing amazing aromatics, flavor, richness and texture. It is easily one of Spain’s best red wine values.
