Impressive is the superb non-vintage Manzanilla Papirusa. Its light straw color is accompanied by a spicy, nutty nose, elegant, dry flavors, delicious purity, and a smoky intensity. It would be fabulous with sushi. Drink it over the next year.

A textbook Manzanilla, this has all the delicate simplicity of saline––almost citrus––flavors in a fresh, elegant and balanced wine that’s enchanting in its lightness. The hint of green olive in the finish brings to mind jamón Ibérico and fresh melon to match.

Textbook Manzanilla! Papirusa is a clean, mildly salinic offering with green banana and toast aromas. The palate is just salty enough, but the wine’s more about almond, apple and lemon peel than saline. And the feel and finish are nutty and warm. A full-bodied but refreshing style as only Lustau can do.

An acquired taste, dry Sherry is not for everyone. But if you are a fan of this unique wine or are curious about southern Spain’s claim to fame, this is a nice Sherry that is slightly sweeter and a bit less salty than many Finos or Manzanillas. The wine is white, with a unique ocean-influenced flavor. It’s the textbook match for a Mediterranean lunch of grilled shrimp or steamed clams, rustic cheese, country olives and sliced ham.
