Sleek and vibrant, with spicy nut and tropical fruit aromas and lively, crisp lemon curd and ginger flavors. Drink now.

One of Korbel’s most consistent wines, this brut shows a rich elegance and balance, with doughy flavors or peaches and a hint of smoke, vanilla and cherry.

87 pts. : December 31, 2006

Classic Korbel brut, elegant, delicate and inexpensive. Nobody does a better job at this price. The wine is dry, with subtle lime, strawberry, peach, yeast and vanilla flavors, and a finish of real elegance. Hard to believe they produced 750,000 cases.

Another fine brut from Korbel, dry, yeasty and citrusy, just like a good bubbly should be. It’s a little rough and scoury in the bubbles, but at this price, a good deal.

87 pts. : December 15, 2012

Lively aromas of citrus and cinnamon roll lead to crisp flavors of apple, tropical fruit and spiced nuts in this fun bubbly. Drink now.

Lively and appealing, offering citrus and raspberry fruit, with spice and cinnamon accents. Drink now.

This nonvintage brut is almost always a successful bottling for Korbel. This release will not disappoint: It’s a fine sparkling wine, dryish, crisp and rich in flavors of orange, lime, vanilla and yeast, with a hint of strawberry.

This blend of Pinot Noir, Chenin Blanc, French Colombard and Chardonnay has poise. It’s dry to slightly sweet, with a brisk scour of acidity to lift the lime, orange and vanilla flavors.

Dry and crisp, this sparkler has spicy flavors of limes, pink grapefruit and spice, with a yeasty, fresh bread dough note. Good buy in a brut.

Korbel’s latest release (made with chenin and colombard in addition to pinot noir and chardonnay) has a toasty breadth balanced by a green apple tang. It’s round and easy to drink.

Crisp and clean, this is a very nice sparkling wine for everyday purposes at an everyday price. It’s just a little sweet, with vanilla cream, peach sorbet and citrus fruit vibrancy. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are among the constituent grapes, along with Chenin Blanc and French Columbard.

Offers modest apple and citrus fruit, with notes of mineral and spice. Drink now.

85 pts. : November 30, 2000

Floral, with flavors of white nectarines and figs. Drink now through 2003.

85 pts. : December 15, 1998

Doughy aromas kick off with baked apple and citrus flavors following up. Smooth and enjoyable. Drink now.

85 pts. : December 15, 2002

Soft and refreshing, with apple, lemon, fig and lime flavors that stay lively through the finish. This producer is a trustworthy name in sparklers. Drink now through 2004.

85 pts. : November 30, 2008

Soft and easy-going, with creamy, spicy pear aromas and pleasant baked apple and fig flavors. Drink now through 2012.

Bearing a special Times Square 2000 label, the Korbel people must believe you are as gung-ho about the millennium as they are. For as long as Korbel Champagne Cellars has been making bubbly in California, this wine managed to strike a balance between cost and quality. Clean flavor, with a bit of toast and yeast; good for when the gang’s over.

84 pts. : December 31, 2007

Citrus, apple and anise aromas lead to crisp, easygoing flavors that finish on a toasty, spicy note. Drink now through 2011.

Shows attractive citrus and hazelnut flavors… with a trace of sweetness. A fine quaffer.

83 pts. : December 31, 1993

Floral and spicy — almost with a Muscat edge — and tastes off-dry, but the sweetness gives it a fresh, lively feel and a creamy texture. Best of the Korbels. Drinkable now, extra chilled.
