This rum-based liqueur is a classic for mixing with coffee. The dominant flavors are a familiar dark chocolate-vanilla hybrid, bold and sweet, only nodding at roasted coffee on the lingering finish. Sippable straight up, perhaps because of its relatively low alcohol content.

Starts out concentrated, coffee bean- and kernel-like in the aroma, which turns more cocoa/dark chocolate-like with aeration. Palate entry is creamy, thick and intensely black coffee-like; at midpalate, the sweetness accelerates and includes toasty flavors of roasted nuts and tar. Ends sweet, rich and properly coffee-like.

Caramel, molasses, maple, coffee and cocoa aromas. A touch of smoke and heat, clean and balanced; finishes sweet, with black pepper and tobacco notes.
