This spirit needs some time to open up, and then mild raisin and burnt-orange aromas peek through. Caramel flavors give over to a lingering smoky finish. The distiller claims that this blend is the only one created for mixing; surely it would be nice served tall, with lots of ice and ginger ale.

There’s lots of caramel, off-dry, honey wheat toast, salty/seabreeze character in the opening whiffs. Palate entry is noticeably oily and sinewy while at midpalate the flavor turns moderately peaty, dry and smoked. Ends up clean, off-dry, mildly pleasing but unmemorable.
