This deep amber spirit, a blend of over 40 whiskies, has a sweet, deeply caramel scent, with a tinge of dried fruit. The flavor is oaky, smoky and dry; a little ice water mellows it nicely and coaxes out some burnt-caramel and raisiny notes. Lingering, moderately smoky finish.

Orange amber appearance. Moderately full-bodied. Orange, sweet wood, dried fruit. Inviting vanilla kissed malty nose reveals a subtly sweet palate with generous woody notes through the finish. Certainly on the richer side of the spectrum for a blended whiskey.
F. Paul Pacult’s Spirit Journal: June 1, 2004
The bright amber/honey color shows some copper/orange core tones and immaculate purity; the opening aromas are firm, evolved, mature and biscuity — seven minutes in the copita allow this lovely blend to accentuate the subtle, sea breeze-like, saltine-like virtues even more; the palate entry is clean, keenly peaty and oily — by mid palate, the island/salty/baked bread influence of Talisker is undeniable and welcome; finishes elegantly, refined and with a last kiss of dark caramel.

Deep amber color with cooper highlights. The salty, pungent Talisker imprint comes out in the nose and carries with it the unflappable confidence of age. The medium-bodied, slightly salty flavor has loads of refinement, much more than the Red Label. On the palate, it begins dry and peaty but ends semisweet in a long, ripe- apple, grapy and malty aftertaste.
