Smooth and rich with toasty notes of burnt orange and sweet vanilla oak; long, silky and ripe with long, gorgeous flavors.

At first, the scent is mild and sweet, but with time opens up to a distinct caramel aroma with a tinge of orange peel. Although fairly boozy on the palate at first sip, eventually this viscous, honey-colored spirit emerges as mellow and fruity, and faintly peated. A splash of water coaxes out more vanilla tones. Good value.

A rich, velvety blended Scotch that’s highlighted by biscuity, leathery and slightly oily flavors. An outstanding example of the blender’s art. Terrific in cocktails.

Pretty amber/yellow color — perfect clarity; the aroma after the pour is biscuity, warm, and welcoming — given a little time in the sampling glass, the aroma starts to expand in the second sniffing, adding outdoorsy scents of wet hay and grass, with a background note of light toffee — by the third whiff, following almost eight minutes of aeration time, the aroma becomes compellingly malty/grainy, leathery and medium-sweet — in the fourth and final nosing pass, I detect a slight, if insignificant, diminishment in power, but there’s still more than ample structural charm especially in the aromatic form of light toffee/caramel and sweet malt…

…at the palate entry, the lovely sweetness of the malt is on full display — the midpalate stage is firm, grainy sweet, and slightly oily (which I like) the aftertaste is medium-long, cookie/biscuity sweet, and exceedingly alluring; very nice job here and certainly more than recommendable.
