Opening aroma is intensely grainy and cracker-like, with background notes of flowers and pine; aeration brings out the grain spirit in uncomplicated scents of pine, flax and beeswax. Entry is pleasantly sweet like caramel (but not too sweet); the midpalate adds sweet flavors of honey, pipe tobacco and tar. Ends nicely sweet and grainy. Best Buy.

Pretty topaz/hay/autumnal gold color; impeccable purity. Opening aroma is intensely grainy and snack cracker-like, with background notes of flowers and pine; further air contact time brings out the grain spirit in clear, uncomplicated scents of pine, flax/textile, and beeswax. Entry is pleasantly sweet and caramel-like (thankfully, not oversweet); the midpalate stage offers added sweet flavors of honey, pipe tobacco, and tar. Ends engagingly sweet and grainy. Gleefully high bang-for-buck ratio. Displays unusual substance for this price range.
