Another spectacular red from one of the most highly celebrated recent vintages in Burgundy, the Charriere Pommard is weighty for a Pinot, and full of rich earth and spice. The dark cherry and currant notes are prominent on the nose, and the palate is a complex array of fruit, herbs and mineral flavors. Worth hanging on to for another several years, but open enough to drink now as well.
