Juicy, displaying a core of crushed plum, blackberry and black cherry fruit held together by bittersweet cocoa and graphite notes. The fresh, racy finish then takes over. Very solid. Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Grenache and Carignan. Drink now.

I have always encouraged wine consumers to pay close attention to South African wines, and the Badenhorst Secateurs is a shining example why. Rich and spicy on the nose; the body opens to classic Rhône notes of earth, smoke, and dark, jammy fruit. A blend of Shiraz, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan, and a great representation of the elegance (and value) of South African wines.
