From the heart of Tuscany, here is a smooth and generous wine that is a blend of 60% Sangiovese and 40% Merlot and was aged four months in French oak barrels. A ruby red wine with violet reflections, it has flavors and aromas of plum, tart cherry, cocoa and olives, crisp acidity, smooth tannins and a graceful finish. Delicious with wild boar stew, grilled lamb chops or eggplant parmesan. Enjoy this delightful wine often! Consider buying a case!

Throughout Tuscany, Sangiovese is often blended with Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon or Cabernet Franc. This blending of grapes is highly successful and helps to produce intense fruit and color in these wines. I Veroni is mostly Sangiovese, blended with Merlot. The wine is light to medium bodied, with balanced acidity and fruit. Enjoy this wine with lasagne or eggplant parmigiana.

The 2008 I Veroni is a typical Tuscan “rosso” blend: mostly Sangiovese with a little Merlot added. What is not typical is the body and flavor that this wine displays at such a low price. This wine is fairly complex and hearty with dusty black cherry, warm woody notes and the hint of a good cigar. We can envision the large plate of spaghetti and meatballs and fresh Italian bread on the same table with this wine.
