Tangerine skins, fresh pears and a hint of petrol combine into an invigorating perfume on this fascinating Riesling. While initially soft with white peach and floral notes, the palate turns zippy and fresh with a slate-and chalk-laced minerality and a clean, lemony finish.

Dry and pure, but with a nice core of ripe green apple and kiwifruit riding over a slate edge on the bright finish. Very tasty. Drink now.

Chateau Lafayette Reneau has always been a favorite here at Premier, but the 2009 vintage just may put them on the national map! Showcasing a luminescent straw hue, rich, perfumed aromas, razor-sharp acidity and lush stone and citrus fruits, this wine rivals some of the best Alsatian dry Rieslings. Pair now with thick cream sauces or fatty foods, or wait a few years for it to mellow out, and serve with savory Mediterranean or vegetarian Indian dishes.
