Starts off with aromas of licorice and caramel with hints of plum and black olive. Flavor notes of toffee, dark chocolate, and plum flow through the glass with elegant intensity. It is full-bodied, supported by food friendly acidity and framed by fine, moderate tannins and toasty oak. A thick cut of prime rib with mushrooms and a port wine reduction sauce would make a great combination.
