Kim Sopko: September 11, 2010
A lighter-bodied Sauvignon Blanc without the intense green pepper flavors of the typical New Zealand bottling, the Laurel Cellars is vibrant and lively, with dominant lemon and green melon flavors. Serve chilled, on its own — this wine is terrific for porch sipping — or with light salads, soups or fish dishes.

If the assertive New Zealand-style of Sauvignon Blanc (intense grapefruit and grass) isn’t for you, or you would like to try a different expression of the grape, look no further. This light and crisp, but still flavorful version from California has fresh notes of pineapple and mango fruit. A suggestion of lemon herb on the pebbly finish keeps the palate refreshed.

A harmonious fusion of classic citrus, grass and fresh garden herbs complemented by New World tropical and honeydew melon flavors.
