If you avoid Chardonnay because you find it fat, flabby and over-oaked, give this lovely Finger Lakes version a try. A pale wheat-yellow in color, it shows ripe honeydew melon on the nose with hints of warm, poached fig and peach cobbler. A full, rich palate suggests a delicate, buttery character, and mouthwatering acidity lends tremendous length on the exceptionally clean finish. It is subtle yet rich, and that razor-sharp acid makes this wine an exciting bedfellow for a variety of foods, thanks to the cool weather that made 2008 an outstanding vintage for local whites. Refreshing, versatile and sophisticated — this is what New York Chardonnay is all about.

A crisp, unoaked Chardonnay, loaded with pineapple, mango, and red apple flavors. Balanced by gentle acidity and structure, the wine is vibrant and racy, never flabby or sweet. Serve with grilled fish, pasta dishes or light salads.
